Southland Golf & Country Club

Southland has such personality in its layout. The views are great and rival what stone mountain have to offer. Greens are great (could be rolled a little more), fairways are in decent shape with a few spots as expected. Tee boxes, cart path, and bunkers need help and this course could be top of the line. This has potential to be one of the best tracks around if they get someone to invest in it. Bring your A game too as it can be challenging but not long.

For a Friday afternoon pace of play really good, GN price good, enjoyed back 9 over front, greens in good shape but slow, fairways playable, cart paths rough. Would not pay over $35 to play again. Glad we played, been a long time since last time. Would play again but not a preferred course

It’s a challenging layout which makes it fun. The greens and fairways at kept in pretty good shape. Biggest issue is the cart path. On most holes it’s best to find your way in the fairway, the cart path is too dangerous. Also, it would be nice to have a marshal to keep people moving.

All money goes towards the greens. They were soft, spongy, dark green.

But every tee box, every fairway, and every area outside the green was hard as can be.

Absolutely empty during the week mid day.

Grass range is nice but can only hit irons or you’ll take out a window.

Cart path is an obstacle course. Not a chance I would listen if it was cart path only.

All and all it was good for the price. Definitely worse in the area for more money.

No Starter, people were just doing whatever they wanted. Was extremely slow.

There was no water on the course. There is ONE water jug on the course, it had no water in it. Is that really difficult to have someone go by and refiill periodically.?

The greens were actully in pretty decent shape but very slow. Everything else was a mess.

The layout is great. Just needs some loving care (and a few bucks) to become a really good course. Better amenities would help also.

The greens were pristine and the fairways were in good shape. The tee sheet wasn’t jammed to capacity, so the pace of play flowed well.

Greens are in excellent shape. Fairways need a little work and the Tee boxes.

We were not allowed the senior rate. Reason given is the tee was booked on Golf Now. Attendant said Golf Now does not allow the senior rate if booked online. Golf Now advertised the senior rate but course did not honor the booking. We paid the small booking fee to boot. I feel the attendant lied either out of incompetence or prejudice. Black golfers 70 and 83 years old on a Wednesday. I hope it was incompetence. Dunno.
