Pace of Play
The pace of play was horrible, they had a tournament starting up and we were forced to allow them to play through. I think that they should have either closed the course or refund our money.
Could be so much better
Back 9 is beautiful and the course is in good shape overall. Though not a single trap was raked and they had grass growing in them. Grass had not been cut in a while and all the grass trimmings were thick. Greens were in great shape.
Would not go back though if I found something of similar rate.
Nice round
I thoroughly enjoyed today’s round. My only concern is that the bunkers need significant work.
Good course for the price
The tee boxes were ok, some of them had been moved away from areas with lots of use. Fairways in very good condition as well as most greens.
The bunkers look like they haven't been maintained in a while.
Challenging but fun
Good course for the layman. Par 4's and 5's are fairly long. Green are well kept but the speed can be deceiving. The bunker conditions are horrible with weeds or plain mud being the playing area.
Club house getting better
I noticed the club house has been cleaned up and no longer a sea of used balls and old, beat up old clubs. The staff was informative and friendly. I was able to get a sandwich, also there is a beverage cart on the course. While I was there a new chipping green was being installed. The greens were a little slow but in great shape. My group played in 4.5 hours on a Sunday morning. The value and condition of the course can not be beat.
Good but could be much so much better
This course is a good layout with greens that were In great shape. A little slow but I think they are close to aerating them. The staff that we saw was very nice . They just need more of them and more course maintenance. The need to institute a program of retirees that play for free to be volunteer Marshalls on the weekends. Pace of play was very slow. And course could be excellent with more money put into everywhere but greens. Will playbit Will probably try to play midweek and not on weekend
Better and better.
I started playing at this course 10 years ago when it was a patchy green dirt course. It was the place to go play cheap and could do whatever you wanted. But I will say it’s gets better and better every year and this year the greens are amazing just perfect. You can just tell how squishy but yet firm. The tee box’s and fairways are good for the most part but much better than at being. Oh did I say how nice the greens are. Because they are amazing. Lol. Really great job on the cousre and thanks for cleaning up that club house.
Great course
Great course, nice layout. Greens were beautiful, but a little fuzzy. Maybe they were not cut because of all the rain.
Decent Course for a Reasonable Greens Fee
Course was in pretty good shape for this time of year, although sand traps on course can use some fill and grooming. Greens were slow due to being recently dressed.
This course is very tuff , and has great features
Tuff, course, but the greens were good. The layout is tuff you need to play in the fairway, or the short grass.
Disorganized clubhouse and overbooked
Very confusing starting from the parking lot. There was a car backed up on the sidewalk right in front of the entrance to the pro shop. Can’t carry clubs inside shop and it’s a maze to find where you can place clubs. Once inside, they were unable to use their credit card machine. No wi-fi or something. Once paid, I was handed a cart key and told to pair up. Once outside at the carts there was no starter or attendant. I was a single so I asked some other golfers their tee times. There were two foursomes for the 12:20 tee time that I had also booked. I ended up pairing up with the 12:40 twosome and waited all day due to the over booking and no Marshals or rangers. The course is a great layout with some really nice holes. The greens were bumpy but rolled relatively fast. Maybe 1 out of every 10 bunkers had any sand in them, many had standing water inside them. Very pretty course with the large areas of rock everywhere reminding you there is a big mountain of stone nearby. Bottom line, this course has some really nice holes and is a fun test of golf. There was some speculation among the golfers I overheard that there had just been a management change. If money is spent on course maintenance this course could be really, really good. And the gas golf carts were great.
I understand your frustration, we were frustrated too. We just installed a new Apple POS and hired 3 new ranger, and a starter. When you have the best greens in the area the players come out. New management and improvements have started. Play well.
