Schaumburg Golf Club - Players/Baer Course
About
The 27-hole course at Schaumburg Golf Club is divided into three nines that are played in different 18-hole combinations that range from just over 6,000 yards to 6,700 yards. The Tournament, Baer, and Players Courses all provide a unique set of challenges but they share the same great conditions on their tees, greens, and fairways. Schaumburg has been host to numerous events since opening in 1928, including the U.S. Open Qualifying and Illinois Open Qualifying tournaments. It is a popular course since the club offers country club amenities and quality with the affordability of a public golf course. Schaumburg's Players/Baer combination starts out with a few tricky carries over water on the front nine and a more forgiving back nine. There are strategically placed bunkers throughout the course, however.

It's ok.
The course was in good shape. The greens were what greens are during COVID. That's about it. Nice place to play.
Great course/ poor pace management
Course is in a terrific shape! Renovation was done top notch and it is one of my favorite courses to play. Really good value. Staff is excellent. The round did take forever. 5.5 hours for a two some is way too long. No ranger on the course to keep the pace either.
My home course
Great course, best bang for your hard earned buck!!!
had hard time figuring where next tee box is. also no indications of distance to middle of green. had to flat out guess distance many times. Beautiful course, very good layout, great fairways and greens.
Haven't played for 15 years. It was a great course
Back then. Even better after their remodel.
Highly recommend this course.
Well maintained course
This course is one we really enjoy playing. It is challenging enough that my husband likes it and open enough so that I, as a newer player, can still enjoy myself.
A great weather day spoiled
The round took 4 hours and 50 minutes to play with perfect weather conditions and tee time at 12:45 on a Sunday afternoon. There's plenty of staff hanging around at each of the first tees on the 3 nine hole courses, but we didn't see a ranger on the course the entire day. The knuckleheads two groups in front of us had 4 or 5 holes open in front of them, were oblivious to their slow play, and were making everyone's game in back of them miserable. We finally figured out the problem on our 11th hole and talked to them about moving it along (which never goes well) and they did do better after that, otherwise it would have been over 5 hours. You just shouldn't have to do that after spending $73 to play golf.
Looked Good
Renovation looked great, first time I played here since the completion of it. Greens rolled good. Good to see many walkers playing since it’s a fairly easy course to walk a round in.
Excellent greens
Despite being extremely wet from the recent rains, the greens rolled at a nice pace and were true. I hadn’t played here in at least 15 years, I had a bad experience with snotty staff, not so this time. We had the first tee time at 8 AM and unfortunately the range wasn’t open, but it was a Monday so they were doing maintenance. I enjoyed the layout, challenging but not brutal. Same with the greens. Overall I was impressed and I will be back
Couldn't understand stand why they skipped on putting down yard markers...
Play with others
We booked a 9 hole for the two of us. They squeezed us in with other people (total strangers), which is fine - if it is the rule that four people have to play together, but they should let us know before we book it. We would have invited some friends to play with us instead of playing with strangers. As a beginner, we may not know all the rules.
I was expecting friendly staff but unfortunately it was not true - especially the lady at the hut where we started the first hole.
