Cantigny Golf - Lakeside/Hillside

Thoroughly enjoyed the golf experience at Cantigny. With the current renovations going on over the next 3 years, it may be tough to get a tee time. Don’t turn down a chance to play if offered one.

One of the best public courses around. Great layout. Driving accuracy very important to avoid being pinned by large oak trees. Extensive reconstruction going on at present on third nine holes. Greens were aerated, a bit early I thought.

Fairways for the most part are well kept. Golfers should remember to replace divots or use the sand seed on the cart. Even the tees had a few to many divots, on par 3's.

Greens were a bit tricky, with the grain quite fast, against quite slow.

Course has millions for a renovation but won’t give a 9 hole rain check

Love it. Close to country club feel - quality, not crowded, intimate and very well kept. Its not cheap so I dont play here as often as I'd like but every time I do it feels worth it.

Early May. weather perfect. The restaurant had excellent service and good food. A father-son outing to remember.

We played with a man named Randy. An excellent golfer. I think he missed two greens in regulation all day. We were a little intimidated at first we were both having a serious case of performance anxiety but he took it in stride and we finally settled down and started hitting some shots. We played at 3.5 hour pace all the way around on a Saturday! The last three holes were slow but we still finished in four hours and had a ball. The only flaw was the handicap cart thing didn’t work and a 79 year old man with neuropathy had a really hard time during and after the round.

Play here regularly and course was in excellent shape. The greens were almost too fast hard to hold even with short irons but putted true and was very windy so definately a challenge !
