Charlotte Harbor National Golf Club

The main features of this course seem to be the deep sand traps of which there were many but the condition of all traps was not good. Very little to no sand, pebbles, sand mud and there had been no rain. Hard to play well since it is tough to avoid traps.

Layout is good and tough greens. Just needs some TLC

Played yesterday and was disappointed in the condition of the tee boxes and greens. I played this course and it was in great shape, but obviously this course is not being paid the same attention this year. Very nice layout and very friendly starter. We had a 2 o'clock tee time and there were no tee times from 12:50-14:00 hours so the starter let us off at 1:10 which was very nice. Pro shop staff were not the friendliest and the bar staff were downright rude. I often wonder how people get hired sometimes, is this how they present on their interviews? Anyways I along with my group will not be returning unless there is a dramatic improvement. We paid 32.00 taxes in with a cart and I would suggest this is the maximum anyone should pay.

The course was enjoyable to play. A few of the greens are a little rough. Not bad if you get the right time and price. Needs sand in the bunkers being in florida sand should be relatively cheap. But overall I will play this course again.

I played this course about a year ago and liked it enough to come back for a second round. It used to be a good, well cared for course, but after this round I wouldn't go there again.

Some examples why; of the 18 ball washers at the tee boxes 4 had no water, 1 had no handle to crank the cleaning wheel around, 5 had some small degree of liquid and 4 had no wipes. Kind of trivial comment some might say, but these small details show the level of maintenance commitment (or lack of) by the ownership (how hard can it be to check the water level and wipe cloths daily before anyone tees off?).

Their bunkers were abysmal - more like shallow mud holes than sand features.- too bad because they are well placed and if in even moderate condition would add a welcome challenge to the course rather than be the negative they are now.

The greens had bare patches and scab grass that made putting a significant problem for even an intermediate like me.

There were many cigarette and several cigar butts littering the course - I'm guessing because of, "if management appears to be unconcerned with the infrastructure why should I be" kind of attitude.

Fix up the course and I'll be back, leave it as is and I will not go there again. Kinda' too bad it's gotten to be this way.

Greens were bumpy in places and there were many rocks in the sand bunkers. Pace of play was aganizing.

Otherwise, the layout is very good, and you need to play the course a few times to know where not to hit your ball. Fun layout, good practice facility, and will play the course again.

Tee time for 12:53, actually got off at 1:20 due to small tournament earlier in the morning - poor starter organisation and communication.

I love the layout. Overall, course was in good shape. Bunkers are still awful, but they have been working on them. Starter told me they have a local rule... "rake and place in traps" That helps.

All staff were very friendly and helpful

Used to love this course until new management took over. Bunkers are terrible with virtually no sand (lots of shell, pebbles). There is no longer GPS on the carts as advertised! The price is no longer worth it for what you get.

The course is pretty good except for the bunkers - only dirt and rocks in them. Par 3's are interesting and the par 5's are not too long.

No ranger and our round took 4:43 mins. There was a 4 some (2 couples) who split men - women in front that was holding up play. We never saw a ranger and the cart girl only once.

I detest slow play. A round should be under 4 hrs always - if not - pick up and take the max and move on. Slow play is ruining this game. Get with it you slow golfers!!! Take 3 clubs, be ready at all times to hit or putt. Ready golf.

Started early. Thanks to starter. Very good line up of holes. Course has excellent Fw grass super ed greens also. Nice cool weather start--played solo in. 3hours. Sand traps little wet but 60 degret w worked fine. Worth the $ will play again.

Great day of golf with family. Only complaint is the same as at most courses these days. We were a threesome and played behind 4 twosomes. Clubs have got to start pairing people up!

Great layout. Incorporates water on every hole. Hit fairways and you will score better than me

Nice course, good challenge. Plenty of wildlife to see as a bonus.

They need to close this place and get it in shape. Greens were horrible, almost looked like corduroy they were so long. One set of tees no longer exists. Paper copies of scorecard. Traps are horrendous they have so many rocks

Very nice course with plenty of potential. The greens need fertilizer & water, the sand traps need some (sand). Spend a little $ to make more $.
