About
UNC Finley Golf Course is one of the top 20 collegiate courses in the country. The club offers a well conditioned comprehensive facility with a driving range, putting green, and chipping. Tom Fazio designed this challenging layout that is diverse enough to appeal to players of all skill levels. He included his trademark false fronts and greenside bunkers. To keep the golf course approachable, there are several different ways to play the bunkers and there are numerous risk-reward opportunities. Seven sets of tees ranging from about 5,000 to 7,300 yards make the course even more versatile. The 15th through the 17th are a beautiful stretch of holes that provide a formidable test as well. The excellent conditions are another feature of the UNC Finley golf course that has made it popular.

Don’t honor the walking rates if you book through golf now. Do not budge and pro shops guys a ####. Never had that happen to me before. Conditions at this price were trash. Muddy, hard pan, poor bunkers, you name it. Other courses in the area are green now and the grass here is dead. Go somewhere else. This pains me to say as I’m a Tar Heel too.
Too early
Just a twosome, but had a great time. Great layout, great staff. The only complaint was that it was too early in the season. The course is still mostly dormant and has not greened up yet. However, we were still charged full price. Once the course conditions wake up, it will be worth the money.

Golf on any day is good
Bermuda and me before the grass comes up does not work too well. Picking the ball clean becomes a greater challenge. Was thankful for the rough -- what rough there was. Greens were tough today. Course is much better when the fairways have good grass.
Thank you for playing UNC Finley! Spring is a great time to play with warmer temps and longer days, but we are looking forward to some warmer nights that will allow the Bermuda grass to grow and us to come out of dormancy. Look forward to seeing you back at UNC Finley when we’re fully out of dormancy and green wall to wall.

Frank Feedback
I assume organization ask for reviews so others will consider the opinion of others prompting others to also do business with the organization. I also assume organizations want frank feedback so they can look at their business through the lens of another perspective. To be fair regarding course conditions the area got a good amount of rain on Thursday. Tee boxes have little to no grass. The fairways were just ok. Not any growth or greening in the fairways. Many of the greens had too many up repairs ball marks to count. I was surprised of how poor the course is kept given it is a UNC property/facility. Speaking of facilities, the club house and pro shop are very nice as are the restrooms. Very clean. The snack bar very ,very dated and in really poor condition. The restrooms at the snack bar (mens) were filthy, disgusting. You felt like you would contract a disease by using the restroom. The irony is the sign that reminds all of of the needs to wash hands and cleanliness to stop the spread of Covid. My brother and I arrived a couple hours ahead of tee time to catch up and have lunch at the clubhouse. DO NOT ORDER a hot lunch. Both of our day old burgers were cold! The chili was cold. Only one person in the kitchen. Just a very bad disappointing lunch experience. The General Manger of the property should take note of this review. Don’t respond to me. Respond to the observations and correct them. That’s why you want reviews, correct. Make the changes. Invite me back (as a paying) guest and show all of us you are serious about feedback.

Another Nice Round
Course has been in good condition through the winter months as we start getting into Spring conditions. I have enjoyed playing this course frequently but feel that the full price of $85-100 for this course is too steep. $60-75 feels appropriate here.

Enjoyable and playable for even the novice golfers
Nice, playable layout for all ranges of skill. Although, it can be a little tricky finding your ball if it is cart path only. Would recommend later in the day for beginners to avoid holding others up on those days.

One of the best courses in North Carolina
The course and staff are nice at Finley course . I have played here off and on for a year now . I am now going to be a member and decided this is the place to do it . Love Love this course . Challenging but fun too .

Unfriendly Staff
Overall not a bad round, still somewhat wet, cart path only. Starter rather gruff and unfriendly when asking if I could go off early! “No singles”. However not busy at all….. will not return!
