About
UNC Finley Golf Course is one of the top 20 collegiate courses in the country. The club offers a well conditioned comprehensive facility with a driving range, putting green, and chipping. Tom Fazio designed this challenging layout that is diverse enough to appeal to players of all skill levels. He included his trademark false fronts and greenside bunkers. To keep the golf course approachable, there are several different ways to play the bunkers and there are numerous risk-reward opportunities. Seven sets of tees ranging from about 5,000 to 7,300 yards make the course even more versatile. The 15th through the 17th are a beautiful stretch of holes that provide a formidable test as well. The excellent conditions are another feature of the UNC Finley golf course that has made it popular.

Fantastic Experience…As Always
Surprise 70 degree day in February turned into a great day of golf at Finley. Course in great shape and mostly dry, except for a few low lying spots. Pace of play was good. Walked as a foursome and played in just over 4 hours. Great day.

Slow Play
Course is in good condition for the winter. Greens and surrounds a little spongy. Finley suggests a round should take 4 hrs 44 min......this is way too long to play there. We were stuck behind a threesome who took the timing literally.....it was brutal. Could have finished play at least 30 min. sooner if a ranger had been anywhere in sight.

Soggy
I really like the track and will drive a little bit to play , however it was very wet and we had to stay on path all the way around. That Is the same as walking the course but paying for cart.
I’ll wait until it’s dryer to play again. I also understand that the course will be getting an update soon so that sounds interesting. Bottom line is if I had paid full price and not a hot deal on golf now I would have been disappointed

Always good conditions
I don't know why they enforced cart path only today. This course had no wet spots at all. It drains better than most courses in the area. I love playing here. I just hope the rates don't skyrocket once they finished the scheduled renovations.

My first time playing Finley. I enjoyed playing the course. Friendly staff. Great layout.The course is just the right length for the average golfer. You don't have to hit many 180+ yard shots to get to the green..Only issue I had was my golf cart hardly made it back to the parking lot. I would recommend playing unc Finley.

Greens are disappointing, staff great as usual
Greens are simply poor, what you would expect from a 35 dollar muni and not a 90 dollar university course. There are rumors of renovations and a changing to Bermuda, in the mean time its very hard to justify the full price point for this course given its current condition.
Staff in the club house and snack bar were 5 star as usual, I will return once the rumored renovations are complete but not until.
Thank you for playing UNC Finley on January 9th and glad you were treated so well by our staff on the day of your play. Sorry the condition of the greens weren’t as you desired. Sunday was the first day we were open after a day of frozen/thawing greens on Saturday. At times in the winter to reduce the delay in opening the golf course the greens are not mowed. The bent grass greens are not growing much in the winter. We are awaiting word from the athletic department administration on the proposed renovation and if this will happen this calendar year or not. We look forward to seeing you again at UNC Finley and thank you for playing our Tom Fazio design.

Excellent Course
Considering that it’s the middle of winter the condition of the course was amazing. It’s my first time playing this course and I was impressed by the layout. Pace of play was actually really good. I would definitely play this course again in summer when I get the time as I can only imagine how gorgeous this course would be with full lush greens and trees.

The course is way over priced compared to similar courses in the area. Too bad.

Solid set of holes with varying degrees of difficulty
The first 8 holes offers you a chance to get warmed up then the remaining 10 are challenging with maybe 1 or 2 let up. Bring your ‘A’ game on the last 10 holes.
