About
UNC Finley Golf Course is one of the top 20 collegiate courses in the country. The club offers a well conditioned comprehensive facility with a driving range, putting green, and chipping. Tom Fazio designed this challenging layout that is diverse enough to appeal to players of all skill levels. He included his trademark false fronts and greenside bunkers. To keep the golf course approachable, there are several different ways to play the bunkers and there are numerous risk-reward opportunities. Seven sets of tees ranging from about 5,000 to 7,300 yards make the course even more versatile. The 15th through the 17th are a beautiful stretch of holes that provide a formidable test as well. The excellent conditions are another feature of the UNC Finley golf course that has made it popular.

Course condition was excellent. Staff (especially the starter) was most cordial and informative. While my game was off, I was pleased by the layout and fairness of the course, and most of the holes were visually stunning from the tee or approach shots to the green. I have already shared how impressed I was with this Fazio designed course. I will definitely be returning...hopefully with my "A" game!

Laid back atmosphere to a challenging course
We had a long drive to the course and encountered some traffic that would make us later. After a quick call to the clubhouse, all was taken care of. The course was fantastic and the greens were challenging. Hole 17 is a ton of fun with the split fairway and immensely two tiered green.

Great day for golf
The course is in great shape! There are a couple of very challenging holes with long forced carry’s but most of the holes are easy to navigate the hazards. We were 4 walkers who waited on a slow couple in front of us but you can’t blame the golf course for that. The greens are very receptive.

Good value for the money
For a public course on a Saturday, I found the course to be run very well. Super friendly and informative starter. The layout of the course is very nice and scenic as well. Decent greens for a public course. Got backed up by the fifth hole. But, I would expect that on a public course on a weekend. Didn’t hurt that we had beautiful weather so we really were not in a rush. I would play this course again. Good experience for the money.
