About
UNC Finley Golf Course is one of the top 20 collegiate courses in the country. The club offers a well conditioned comprehensive facility with a driving range, putting green, and chipping. Tom Fazio designed this challenging layout that is diverse enough to appeal to players of all skill levels. He included his trademark false fronts and greenside bunkers. To keep the golf course approachable, there are several different ways to play the bunkers and there are numerous risk-reward opportunities. Seven sets of tees ranging from about 5,000 to 7,300 yards make the course even more versatile. The 15th through the 17th are a beautiful stretch of holes that provide a formidable test as well. The excellent conditions are another feature of the UNC Finley golf course that has made it popular.

Narrow fairways
Fairways had not turned green. Course was narrow and you need to hit a target.

Early season, greens just aerated but enjoyed the round!

Just passing through and wanted to get a round in on my way to Atlanta. I booked on line... staff were excellent at the pro shop. Greens fees were $25 less than on line booking rate as the greens were being aerated.
Course was in great early season condition. Staff was excellent .

Challenging layout
Since it's redesign years ago, Finley has offered a challenging layout, with elevated fairways, lots of bunkers that must be negotiated off the tee, and water and natural areas that will penalized the more wayward shots. Greens are large and true. Today's rate was at a discount due to greens aeration. Normally it's a little pricier than we look for a local round, but it's a nice splurge.

Fun day, course is fair shape, not much grass
This time of year there isn't much grass in the fairways. The greens were aerated but still rolled good. Enjoyed the people we played with. Disappointed no water available and no restrooms except at the turn

Great Greens
The greens were in great shape. I love the layout and it’s one of the most fun courses in the area to play. Although this is been a wet season and we had to stay on the cart paths, It was still worth playing

Not worth the cost
It cost me $99 to play course. Was no rye overseed. Course was pretty bare with grass. Was also pretty wet. Would of though would of been priced to similar shape courses in area. Should of been $40 max.

Awful Customer Service
Really poor customer service. They showed no regard for wanting repeat customers. Even for a customer who is a faculty member at UNC, lives in Chapel Hill, could come back many, many times and bring many people with him/her they would not budge and make sure we had a good experience. Basics: i have never golfed there before and I booked through GolfNow. We preferred to walk because it is cart path only but they said we absolutely could not change to walking or get faculty discount because we had booked through GolfNow. Sounds like they need to get a different website or figure out to keep their customers satisfied. Rest of round was great.

Always in great shape...
I have played this course 5 times over the past few months and it is always in great shape. The course drains well and the greens roll true. It is surrounded by pine trees and there is never a pine needle on the greens - not sure how they do it. Can't wait for the next round at UNC Finley!

Excellent course
Have played all 3 universities courses in the triangle, this is the most reasonable. Layout, conditions, fair for mid handicap golfers.
