UNC Finley Golf Course

A challenging golf Course in excellent condition . Strongly recommend.

Course was in good shape, other than the greens still healing from being aerated ~1 month ago.

Great course just beat the rain and storms. Will definitely be back. Only bad the clubhouse was closed really wanted to see some of the merchandise. Thanks Greg

Played 7/3/20 .. in great shape just too much money not a great value.. would love to play again but geez at 80-90 dollars a round? Nah

The golf course was is excellent shape except for a few tee boxes that did not have much grass. For being pretty busy we only waited on 3 holes. One problem was the turn house was already closed by about 4pm when we made the turn. We thought it would be open until 5:30pm. The course is pricier than some other comparable courses in the area. That is one reason not to play it more often.

Great fun roping. Played with a couple local gentleman. Really bad a blast. First time on the course. Greens aerated a few weeks ago. Coming in nice

The greens have settled in nicely and the course overall is in great shape. Things are just different now and we all need to understand that. They are trying hard to be smart about covid and still yet provide a top notch golf experience. Well done.

This was my first post-Covid19 round at Finley. The staff managed things very well, as I would have expected.

There was a good amount of rain the night before, so carts were on the path only.

Greens were still recovering from aeration, but they putted fairly well.

Some greens are very slow because they are not cut daily or weekly or however often they cut them. Maybe because we are all facing coronavirus but still greens should be not rough.

Staffs are very nice and helpful. I would definitely go back when deal is right... Otherwise it is very pricey.

My three buddies and I booked an online tee time through supreme golf on Monday, May 25th. We showed up to the course and under covid circumstances the range was closed (no big deal), but the greens were aerated. My issue here is that we asked if the course would be aerated and we were informed no. Turns out the front nine had been aerated and almost unplayable on the greens. What’s up with the noodles out of the holes? Our next issue was with the pro checking is in. He seemed extremely stoned and made us feel incredibly unwelcome. We traveled in from Greensboro, NC and he said, “Your friend only booked it for three, let me see if I can squeeze one of y’all on” fortunately we weren’t paired with another person and it bturns out we booked for four people like we said. The course charged $45 to walk at 3:30 on a Monday afternoon in conditions that were nearly laughable. Not to mention the course was backed up big time. No halfway house or pro shop, just a few vending machines open. Felt like a municipal course you play for $15. Don’t waste your money at Finley. You can play two great rounds of golf for the price you pay here. We did have one positive.. our group shot scores of 66, 71, 71, 74.

Played 4/28/20. Greens are slower than they look but roll true. Fairways are still thin but very playable. Rough has not grown into what it will be come June! NC needs some dry/hot weather to kick in the Bermuda grass (Greens are bentgrass). Overall, a great layout, just not ready for prime time in late April.

Understanding during covid things will be different. However the greens had been punched, not mowed, or blown. It was 89 degrees and there was no way to even get water. There are 5 other courses in the area that are much less and in much better shape. They are also handling the Covid protocols far better. Not worth the money at all.

Very corona ready 15 min between each tee time very clean. I felt safe. Compared to othe public in the area just worth 51 wait for the 30$$ deal and enjoy

The layout of the the track is beautiful, intimidating and charming. Course is well manicured and has the feel of an expensive private course. Loved the identifying signs on the vegetation was a nice touch. The bunkers were very well placed to. They increased the challenge to your skills, imagination and mental capacity (risk and reward is high). The bunkers actually reminded me of Bethpage Black with regards to placement and the sand quality was amazing. I just love this course It replaced Loonie Poole as my favorite course in the are thus far.
