About
UNC Finley Golf Course is one of the top 20 collegiate courses in the country. The club offers a well conditioned comprehensive facility with a driving range, putting green, and chipping. Tom Fazio designed this challenging layout that is diverse enough to appeal to players of all skill levels. He included his trademark false fronts and greenside bunkers. To keep the golf course approachable, there are several different ways to play the bunkers and there are numerous risk-reward opportunities. Seven sets of tees ranging from about 5,000 to 7,300 yards make the course even more versatile. The 15th through the 17th are a beautiful stretch of holes that provide a formidable test as well. The excellent conditions are another feature of the UNC Finley golf course that has made it popular.

Right in front of you..
This was 1st time we (3 some) played this course. Starts out with somewhat easier holes. Score early cause things get harder as you go. Especially from Gold tees we played. Last several holes are visually great holes. Conditions were really good. Some rain night before but still got run in fairway. Greens (bent grass) a little slow but normal for middle of summer heat. Rough was short enough to make it playable. Would play again.
Fantastic
I play a ton of golf. 6 handicap. I’m fortunately enough to play a lot of bucket list courses and exclusive courses. All that to say, this place stands up. Loved it. Super interesting. Conditions are perfect. Greens are pure and fast enough. (probably 10 that day) I loves the layout. It was interesting, challenging but not stupid, scenic. There are tee boxes for every level and the course completely changes from one to the next.

Awesome course
Course is beautiful and in great shape. Greens are soft and roll true. Pace is decent even when backed up. Great value when you get a $40 hot deal!

UNC Finley 6/24/19
Great round of golf! Some of the best greens I’ve ever played. Fairways were plush when I found them. Play was a little slow. Almost a 5 hour round. All in all, an excellent experience! Even for a UK fan! By chance later that evening, I happened to be on the other side of Raleigh at a restaurant sitting beside the Finley superintendent. Carl was super cool and really wanted to know what I thought about the course. Great guy that really cares about his work. Def recommend giving the track a run if you haven’t!

Great Fazio Course
Me and a friend played at 7:30 am on a Sunday morning using a GolfNow Hot Deal. We were let off the 1st tee with just the two of us which was what we wanted. Pace of play was fantastic and we finished just at or under 3 hours. The course was in great condition, greens are a tad slow here compared to the area but certainly not due to poor green conditions, just the type of grass. I think UNC is fairly priced as you can play often on a hot deal using GolfNow. I personally wouldnt play often here at the full price of $75+. I think $50 is a fair price for the course.
Will continue playing here no doubt.

Ground under repair
When I booked the round I wasn’t aware the front nine was under repair. There wasn’t any mention of the front nine greens being spiked through golfNOW.com. This, we played the back nine twice. Also, I was able to hook up with two people and when they called a few days earlier they were not aware of the course maintenance taking place either. I did play the course back in December of 2018 and was pleased back then. Better communication would have been helpful.

So slow
They let a fivesome out who were unbelievably slow. No sign of a Marshall to move play on. I was just told to “hit a couple balls”, but was pressured from behind because there was a threesome playing at a reasonable pace behind me.

Great design. Slow greens.
I have played this wonderful course for over 20 years. It's a great design and conditions are always spectacular. The only downside is that they don't monitor pace of play and that they refuse to cut or roll the great greens. Finley's greens are considerably slower than its fine neighbors, even on a spectacular 80 degree day with no chance of burning. This makes it very difficult to putt if you play anywhere else. I don't play here nearly as much as I used to because of the pace of the greens.

Best Course In The Triangle
I had an amazing time at UNC Finley. The course was in excellent. The greens were perfect and rolled nicely. The hole layouts were very fun. Shorter course which I loved. I use to bounce around to different courses now Finley will be my go to.
