About
UNC Finley Golf Course is one of the top 20 collegiate courses in the country. The club offers a well conditioned comprehensive facility with a driving range, putting green, and chipping. Tom Fazio designed this challenging layout that is diverse enough to appeal to players of all skill levels. He included his trademark false fronts and greenside bunkers. To keep the golf course approachable, there are several different ways to play the bunkers and there are numerous risk-reward opportunities. Seven sets of tees ranging from about 5,000 to 7,300 yards make the course even more versatile. The 15th through the 17th are a beautiful stretch of holes that provide a formidable test as well. The excellent conditions are another feature of the UNC Finley golf course that has made it popular.

Conditions were great
Course was in great shape. Weather was nice, 70*, low wind. Fairways still not growing yet and rough also dormant and therefore manageable. Played with 3 very nice gentleman at a nice pace. Will keep eyes open for another deal on Golf Now for Finely.
Challenging but Fun and Fair
NC winter conditions at Finley today. Greens are in great condition but slower than they look. The green surrounds are damp/spongy. Fairways are thin/dormant Bermuda. We need some heat/dry in NC for the courses to perk up.
Unless you get a deal, I'd wait until late April to play here.

Ok For Winter Conditions
Greens were a little spongy/slow but rolled true. Fairways were thin, wet, no roll but playable....winter conditions in NC. Our foursome played in 4 hrs 40 min, cart path only, and we waited probably 30 min on the group ahead of us. Don't think they should post 4 hrs 44 min as the acceptable pace of play....should be 4 hrs 10 minutes max. Fun layout....par 4's can get you if the wind is blowing!

Great place for golf
Staff was absolutely spot on, from the pro shop, Driving Range, the starter. Course was in great condition.some wet areas, But Don’t hesitate to make the call here. My only problem was a lot of walkers, but we averaged 15min hole time. Not really bad considering cart path only. Definitely going back. Thanks Finley for a great day. Oh! Shot 77 which made it that much better.

Course design is very good and challenging.
I like the layout of the course. Greens are huge and in good winter condition. Because of recent rains the fairways were very wet and NO roll.

Finley GC
One of the nicest courses we have played and possibly the nicest public course I have seen. The teeboxes, fairway and especially the greens ( rolling pure) were in amazing condition. The pace of play was great (3.5 hour round). We loved the quaint clubhouse and to top it off the apparel was on sale in the pro shop. Perfect day. The overall experience was by far the best I had in North Carolina, rivaling Pinehurst only.

Challenging but playable
Finley is a beautiful course that is challenging without punishing you, even for the hacker like me. It's a little pricey and usually crowded but well worth the time and money!
UNC Finley
The course is great. Plenty of challenges from 1 through 18. Fazio has done an outstanding job making course fun with difficulty. It is always in great shape and friendly personnel.

Challenging course for first time
Of course you would expect a course that colleges play on to be challenging. This course is pretty normal length off of the blues but you have to be able to place the ball and driver may not be best off the tee

Challenging but Fun and Fair
Rough isn't long but very dense. Bentgrass greens a bit shaggy and slow but rolled true. They'll probably be better come early Oct. with cooler nite time temps.
Good layout....some strong par 4's. The par 5's and 3's are scoreable....even for a bogey golfer like me!
