UNC Finley Golf Course is one of the top 20 collegiate courses in the country. The club offers a well conditioned comprehensive facility with a driving range, putting green, and chipping. Tom Fazio designed this challenging layout that is diverse enough to appeal to players of all skill levels. He included his trademark false fronts and greenside bunkers. To keep the golf course approachable, there are several different ways to play the bunkers and there are numerous risk-reward opportunities. Seven sets of tees ranging from about 5,000 to 7,300 yards make the course even more versatile. The 15th through the 17th are a beautiful stretch of holes that provide a formidable test as well. The excellent conditions are another feature of the UNC Finley golf course that has made it popular.

Nice as always!

It was a wet, gloomy day but course was still in good shape. Was my first time playing since the redesign. Not sure the redesign was really an improvement for anyone other than the college golfers or serious practice folks. The new "practice holes" looked nice but creating those meant "squeezing in 2 new holes on the other side which were not really great. But even having said that...I will go back and also would still recommend it to a friend.

Really disappointing

I expected more from this course given the high green fees and recent updates. The golf course ranger was literally on the greens at one point on the back 9 watching my group hit from the steep bunker. I've never experienced this much micro management at a golf course. The pace was extremely slow due to overbooking most likely... It took over 5+ hours to finish.

Reduce your prices and get better scheduling and management.

I would not recommend, and that's coming from an alumna.

Cart path only is a drag but OK day.

Cart path only again as the course does not drain well. I like this course except for #6 except that is growing on me. Next time its cart path I will walk. Played a midday deal tee time and they let me tee off early, the other two did not show up. I called when it backed up by ten and they said it was fine to repeat the front 9 instead, so completed 18 in well under 4 hours. #6 tee still needs steps and there is a cart GPS dead spot on #6.

Overall a great deal for a hot deal time.

I like this course - its playable for all golfers, except for the price!.

The new version of Findley is a great course except the par 3 6th hole. It is really strange and shoehorned in, and does not feel like a natural part of the course. The new 2-4 are fine, in fact I really like #4.

The tee box on hole 6 needs steps near the white tees - due to the slippery conditions I had what could have been a really bad fall.

I only play this course when there is a cheap deal as it is now too costly. The practice tee system has stopped me using it even though it is very close - I go to Hillandale instead.

A fair course. High priced but I got a deal.

The cost to play has risen to the point I no longer play unless I get a deal. Discount for Rams club is insufficient. However even with cart path only it’s a great course, very fair.

Really need steps from 6th tee (white) as the grass was very bare and I took a bad Fallon the slick mud.

UNC Finley

Course was in great condition. No wait play on this day - so pace was great. The layout is varied with some beautiful Carolina holes. Lots of teeing options-- played the blues and they were perfect for my 14 handicap. Practice areas - chipping, putting, range - were very good. Greens were perfect condition with great roll. Go play this course

Hmm…

Well, first time out since the renovation. First the good, the course is in very good shape right now, the greens are hard as a rock but are still receptive and roll good. I was a bit shocked by the re routing. The nines are reversed and they ruined the old back nine, now the front. Basically they jammed 11 holes in what was previously 9. Hole number one is a par 3, really bizarre for me. So, still a nice course for sure but wow, I can’t believe someone signed off on the reroute but I don’t know all the facts

Excellent Greens

Greens are in superb condition. Rest of course very good condition....rough is very dense. GPS in the cart didn't work, guy in the clubhouse didn't tell us we were starting on #10!!!!! Pace of play very average....4 1/2 hours....waited at least 30 minutes during the round. Still think they should reverse the 9's.

The only problem was the $75 plus tax for the rental clubs. The rest was awesome!
