UNC Finley Golf Course
About
UNC Finley Golf Course is one of the top 20 collegiate courses in the country. The club offers a well conditioned comprehensive facility with a driving range, putting green, and chipping. Tom Fazio designed this challenging layout that is diverse enough to appeal to players of all skill levels. He included his trademark false fronts and greenside bunkers. To keep the golf course approachable, there are several different ways to play the bunkers and there are numerous risk-reward opportunities. Seven sets of tees ranging from about 5,000 to 7,300 yards make the course even more versatile. The 15th through the 17th are a beautiful stretch of holes that provide a formidable test as well. The excellent conditions are another feature of the UNC Finley golf course that has made it popular.

Golfer Reviews
Great course
Beautiful course, immaculate upkeep! Grass is in tremendous condition!
Great course on pristine condition
If I was back in Wisconsin I'd have to pay at least $75-$100 to play this course. It is an outstanding price for an outstanding course. There isn't one even mildly negative comment to be made. Awesome practice range, chipping and putting green. Fairways, tee boxes and greens top notch. If you are in this area you simply have to play here if you love golf. Plays longer than scorecard indicates. Play the appropriate tees and enjoy. I am a 5 handicap and blue tees more than enough.
nice undulation
very challenging undualtion both on the fairway & green!
a lot of bare earth on the fairway is dismissive.
Great Course
Fantastic layout. Conditions were spectacular, except for the long greens. They hadn't been cut to a tournament-like play due to the heat. Staff member recommended coming back in September for women's tournament. I can only imagine in those conditions, that it will be one of my top three courses ever played.
A MUST PLAY if you are in the Triangle area.
Duke and State fans welcome
Challenging but fair layout with large greens. One of the nicest courses I have played in NC.
Fairways and greens in great shape
Beautiful course, my husband and I love playing here
Wonderful layout that has beautiful vistas
the course was in wonderful shape other than the greens being punched recently, however the ball still rolled well. I love the layout of this course. very fair for all levels of play
Nothing could be finer than to be in Carolina!
Finley is the UNC golf course. Although the greens were recently aerated, they rolled well enough and presented little problem.
Staff is always wonderful throughout the round. Good burger at the pit stop, and on weekends, they have fresh grilled food.
I always love getting 40% off the regular rate through Golf Now! Thanks Golf Now!
Finley Review
Played UNC Finley for the very first time on Father's Day 2013. Happened to get paired up with J. Allred, former touring PGA pro who was practicing for the Monday qualifier/Rex Hospital Web.com event.
The course is challenging but fair with only a few blind tee shots. The greens are huge and the traps are well positioned. We played the Blue tees from over 6800 yards with a lot of the back 9 markers near the tips. I would certainly play the course again even with the very tough back to back tough Par 4's, Holes 15 & 16.
My round was made complete by an Eagle on Hole 17!!
Fun, diverse layout in great condition
The course has a nice, diverse layout with plenty of hazzards to keep it interesting. That said, there is enough room to miss if you're not hitting it straight. It seems to be a very well maintained course, as the greens were in very good condition and rolling consistently and the fairways well manicured. I will definitely be back.
Well designed. Challenging from the back tees.
Everything about this course is top notch.
Greens, bunkers, and design make it a fair challenge.
Well designed for walking, and many do.
Great course...challenging, but fair
Had an absolute blast at UNC-Finley, and was able to find a great deal on golfnow.com which made it even better. Great weather, great course conditions, friendly staff and a nice new clubhouse that they finally finished...overall, had a blast and give the course 2 thumbs up. Highly recommended!
Great Values to be found on Golfnow
Best public course in Durham/Chapel Hill area. Pace of play generally good during the week when I tend to play there. Twosome played in 3hr 10min on 4/9/13, waited on only shot.
Recently punched and hasn't fully greened up yet. Greens good overall. Tough course, plenty from the Blue tees (6200ish) for most players.
Good course. Like how it plays and is laid out. Challenging enough to make you want to play it again.
I like this course and how it plays. Great design. Not just a grip it & rip it course. requires the use of a lot of clubs and good shot selection.
Excellent play. Will definitly go back.
Course is well designed with challenge and comfortable play throughout. I look forward to seeing it full beauty when the season turns and all the grass is green and lush. Even at the state of transition it was in, the course was a pleasure to play.
Beautiful course.
Course was in great shape after recent wet weather. Keeping carts off the course was good for the course but made for a little slower play. Beautiful day to be outside though so it didn't detract from the experience.
One of the best in raleigh Durham area!
Finley is a great Fazio design that you couldn't ask more in a golf course. Walking friendly, tee boxes for all levels, and a great new clubhouse. Please keep in mind that I played in February for my just maintained mark in course conditioning. I've been lucky enough to play some of the best courses in the country ( both private and public) and this ranks up there with the best of them. I will say that the only thing that could be better is the menu in the clubhouse, but I think that will turn around in time.
Great Winter value
First time at Finley. Excellent Winter conditions. Wide fairways and enormous greens, not particularly difficult course, but a fun layout with enough bunkers around the green to keep you honest on approach shots.
