Current staff is very friendly and the course is in decent shape. Some strategic holes require accurate shots. Age 55+ golfers post senior rates. Definitely worth playing.

Olde Sycamore is a staple choice in the Charlotte area. The course is decently maintained and the current staff is friendly and helpful. The course requires some strategic shots Greens are in decent shape as of March 2023. Weekly rates are competitive and senior rate is for age 55+, which makes it even more affordable.

Cannot believe the current current conditions of this once beautiful course. Bare fairways, horrid tee boxes, marginal greens. Do not waste your time or money playing here.

Great experience at Olde Sycamore. Pro shop staff went above and beyond to welcome me for my first round ever at their course. Course was in very good shape for February. Really enjoyed the layout too. I was a single but got paired with a couple of really nice guys. Highly recommend Olde Sycamore.

The greens were in terrible shape, the fairways even worse for $70 in February. The biggest disappointment was the maintenance crew blowing the fairways and following us for half of round. Most people would stop blowing while you teed off and not blow pine needles in your face on the tee box. The most rude experience of my golfing career.

The staff was extremely friendly and helpful. Course conditions dictated cart path only and resulted in slow play. The ranger kept everyone moving along. The greens were fast and rolled true, and I only used my driver on five holes. Plan to play again on another trip south..

5 hours and 10 minutes to play 18... unacceptable..... great course in good winter conditions, played the wrong tees so will go back again if I can get a good rate.

The course design is quite nice and challenging! Clubhouse, snack bar, beer selections - all superior. Played on a Saturday and play was very slow due to cart path only (poor course drainage). Older gentlemen leap frogged us at the turn. Pricey given current course condition - greens had some significant patches and green speed varied significantly. Cart guy was super nice, but golf shop staff was unhelpful. Mentioned it was our first time, and the guy basically snubbed us. Could use a nicer experience for first timers or improve signage, things offered by the course, etc. Absolutely no pictures, hole layouts on the cards or markings to show hole design. I will play the course again in the spring/summer to reevaluate.

Course was in okay shape but greens were money for January

First time playing Olde Sycamore. For reference, I've played a lot of the public and semi private options in the Charlotte area.

First off, the staff is exceptionally friendly. When I checked in, the gentleman behind the counter asked if I was a Veteran, which was nice and not expected so I appreciate that. The starter by the range was extremely detail oriented and had every group gathered and ready to go when it was their turn.

The course has great, great bones. I really like the layout. There is a good mix of holes with some elevation changes and the green complexes are well designed. Bunkers were in fantastic shape. Greens rolled good given it was January.

I was going to play here in the early fall, but had heard that they lost some greens and didn't think the rate was comparable to some other options.

It was evident that there was some patchwork and plugs on some of the holes, but it never really impacted my putts or playability to be honest. I'd like to see them convert to some sort of ultra-dwarf bermuda and lose the bent grass greens given the climate, but thats another discussion. Costly for sure, but worth the investment in the long run.

Overall a good value, really slow on the holiday afternoon. Greens are showing some signs of distress but may be the winter.

Had to play this course because it was the only one I could find last minute for 4. Charlotte once again comes through with its lack of public golf options.

The course layout is fun and challenging. The greens are some of the worst in Charlotte. Very patchy and diseased. Have a hard time paying $75 to play here because there are so many other courses in better condition for a similar or lower price (Eagle Chase, Springfield, Monroe CC). They should shut the course down and re do the greens to get them back into shape.
