About
The Currituck Club has a Rees Jones-designed layout that stands out from other Outer Banks courses, mostly thanks to its ideal location along the Currituck Sound. The golf course shares the landscape with an abundance of wildlife including deer, osprey, geese, and turtles. Golfers might even catch a glimpse of an eagle soaring overhead. The layout tumbles across rolling sand dunes and combined with the seaside location, the golf course offers a true links feel that is reminiscent of traditional Scottish courses. The diverse coastal terrain is covered with maritime forests and wetlands. The holes are both challenging and scenic, especially the seventh through the ninth, which sit right along the Sound. The golf course also finishes on the Sound with a scenic closing stretch. Playing The Currituck Club right at sundown will provide unrivaled views.

instead of having free water on the course they charged 3.50 for a 12 oz bottle that they paid 10 cents for at least put them on the course for free
Course itself was great
Great course on the OBX
The course is a solid track that offers a test from every tee box. Keep it on the fairways because the rough gobbles up strokes. The greed read true and the speed is fair.

Slow play
Fool me once shame on you, fool me twice shame on me. Played Currituck last September and panned it in my review for slow play at 4 1/2 hours and poor greens because no one fixes their ball marks. Went back again today and the guy in the pro shop said we should be playing it in 4 hrs 25 minutes. The round took us 5 1/2 hours. No rangers to push the slow foursome two groups ahead of us. It was atrocious. At one time there were 4 groups on a par 4. The slow group on the green, the group ahead of us on the fairway. us on the tee and the group behind us waiting in carts. Nine minute intervals don’t work here. Why have rangers If they won’t do their job and speed up slow groups? The group in front of us actually hit right through the slow group. On the 8th hole which was our 17th hole since we started on 10. The slow group took at least 10 minutes on each green. Again this year the greens were not that great either. Nobody fixes any ball marks. We all fixed at least 2 ball marks each hole. It’s a shame because it is a beautiful course but I’m done with it due to the slow conditions.
Did anyone from Currituck actually read my review or just go by the star rating. The course is beautiful but mgt running the company leaves a lot to be desired. It was worse this year than last year. I thought I hit I would not recommend button but obviously i hit recommend. My mistake. Played the course twice and won’t play it again.

Beautiful and challenging layout
The critical first. For $100+ I expect an open range for paying players. Paying the additional $6-12 for warm up balls does not make me feel like I’m getting a great expierence. Greens were pummeled with ball marks. Not the courses fault just inconsiderate players. Which is made worse by how soft the greens are just after watering. 2 times I had my approach shots plug on the green. Wasn’t very busy (probably because of the cost) so I went out as a single and caught up to multiple 3/4 somes. Better player and group management would be helpful to pace of play and course conditions. 8 min tee times is a recipe for disaster.
The good stuff - layout was fun and if you want a challenge play from the tips. The course is completely different between the white tees and black tees. Lots more water and hazards come into play. Example par 3 6th hole. 195 mostly over water compared to 155 and mostly green in front of you. Staff was delightful and knowledgeable. Food and drinks were moderately priced as expected for a golf course. Great views of the sound and beautiful homes surrounding the course. Not worth the $115 at peak times - but worth it to be played once while on vacation.

It's a nice round on the Outer Banks. The course was in good shape a good buy at 80 wouldn't do it for 150.00

Nice Course!
The course was in good condition and the pace of play was right at 4.5 hours. Some of the rough was thick and you can easily lose a ball just a few feet off the fairway. Overall, I will probably play it again; however, the $144 for prime time is a bit steep.

Great condition
Depending on the tees you play it could be a very tough course. Do not try to play above your length or it will be a very long day.

Great course - a little pricey
Loved the course and the staff was great. Pace of play was a little slow but starter was able to push. It’s a great course however I thing the price is way too steep. Given it’s only course north of Kitty Hawk I assume the convenience allows a higher price point. However even the twilight rate of 85 I think is a little steep. However it’s a great course that was a lot of fun to play and I’d go back for a twilight rate

Great Day with son & son-in-law
We three enjoyed the friendly and helpful staff. The course was beautifully maintained and we had a prompt start. The play moved at a good pace. The younger “boys”, son and son-in-law, hit from the “blues” and dad hit from the “gold”. Pace of play was perfect. This course is certainly a must. Playing this course is a beautiful way to enjoy a day at the OBX.
