About
The Links at Brick Landing, a gated community with an 18-hole golf course, is located north of Myrtle Beach in Ocean Isle Beach, North Carolina and features Atlantic ocean views along the Intracoastal Waterway. Four holes on the back nine are adjacent to Sauce Pan Creek which is a saltwater marsh filled with wildlife. Nos. 1 and 18 sit on the Intracoastal Waterway with the Ocean Isle Beach barrier island serving as a backdrop. The course was sold and received new ownership in 2021 and renovations include new Sunday Ultradwarf Bermuda greens.

Several greens(4) played were temporary greens. Rough and around tee boxes could have been mowed but it has rained a lot in the area recently. Fairways were just ok. Some better than others. Have been playing this course since the early 90"s.

Four temporary greens and all other greens were being aerated. Was not made aware of the poor conditions when making a tee time. Would not have paid $55 to play the course had I known. Aside from that course was in fair shape and the cart paths were the worst I have came across.

Great course!
Fantastic golfing course! Great layout. Drivable par 4’s. They were doing some work to the course. As most on the grand strand are. Few greens looked like they were burnt, after speaking to the golf shop m, turns out it was their winter overseed that was dying out. They rolled true. There were four alternate greens, looked like they had sprigged some small areas on those holes. They rolled fine also. No complaints. Everyone should know if you play golf in the area this time of year, you’ll find this is the time of season that aerification is going on, and any other course work.

Extremely Poor Course Conditions
(4) greens were closed down with temporary greens in the fairway. Many of the other greens had dead spots to the point that they were eroding the
soil away. Many dead spots in the fairway. Course is in horrible shape. Needs to be closed, restored, and reopened under a new name. Cart paths are all to pieces. Just over-all neglect of maintenance. I will never return. This used to be a place I would play regularly when in the area. Golf Now should remove this course from it's list of courses.
Greens require major maintenance
Course is in rough shape. Four of the green are under construction and another four greens had significant burnt spots. Maybe in the future this will be a nice course. Keep an eye on this course for future play.

Over seaside course with tight fairways
Rick Landing is an interesting course , in an older co muni community near the ICW. The fairways are quite narrow , with 5-6 holes where you should leave the driver Iin your bag. The greens are currently [6-23) being regrown after bad fungus problems in Spring 2024. The 6000 yard white tees are quite challenging if you don't hit it straight off the tee . The gold tees are only 5000 yards which is pretty short. I scored well off golds but 4-5 holes were like playing a par 3 course. The finishing hole is a tough test to finish , in full view of the Clubhouse porch on 19thhole.

Always improving the course.
Course is always being added to or conditions are always being attended to. Without interfering with play or pace. Which is a pretty neat trick. Staff is always on their game. I've brought many friends out for a round and they all spoke well of the course and the staff.

Course conditions
A group of us played on 6/5/23. The course is in real bad conditions they had 5 greens under repair and the greens are set up in the fairway. A lot of the tee boxes were really bad also. I know they are doing renovations to make it better and hope it does. The pictures do not show that and we were never told it till we got there. I would not play this course again till they are all done with the course layout good and can see potential, but would wait to play it

Do Not Bother!
The carts are crappy, the cart paths are a disaster. The course itself in average shape, but there is enough natural water hazards on the course without them designing “blind shots” where water pinches into landing areas , marked by a flag. Unnecessarily penal from that standpoint. Bring plenty of ammunition and prepare to have good shots penalized. I played 6 courses in two weeks in the area and this was by far the worst. Try other places! They are worth the money.
By the way there is no snack bar and the layout is “continuous “ meaning it does not come back to the clubhouse at #9. No beverage cart on course. You are supposed to buy your drinks from a small cooler in the pro shop (tiny!) and survive on that for 4 hours.

Not sure what course you played! We just played The Links on Friday. Fairways are beautiful, greens rolled true. They are working with a few Alternate greens, can’t complain about those either, as they rolled very well also. Pro shop personnel are fantastic. GreaT layout and fun course to play.
