Last hole. Lots of water. Photo submitted by u314159587228 on 05/17/2022
Last round of 2024
Nice tight layout. Water into play on most ones. Had 2 inches of rain two days prior so a bit soggy and carts on path. Will return again.
Tight course
Super thin fairways and lightning fast greens. Bent grass, common for most courses in this area. Not many places to miss. Long irons are important to score.
Great course for the money….$35
Staff was very friendly and helpful with a first time player on the course. Starter even marked some holes that i would not need my driver. This course is short but challenging since you have to hit your ball to the correct place for the next shot. Definitely a locals/ members course with the slower pace of play. i know it is the “off” season but still be mindful of the pace of play and allow smaller groups to play through.
Tees and fairways are if good condition with the overseeding for winter. Greens were fast but some had a roughness with that made it difficult to keep online. One issue that i did not like was the fact that you had to cross a high traffic 45mph road twice on the back nine.
I did get to see two Alligators sunning on the bank when i was on #10 tee box waiting for the fairway to clear.
They are rebuilding
The course itself is laid out well and pretty challenging. The condition of the course seems as if it had been let go for quite a while and they are trying to get it back in shape. Greens were probably about 90% recovered from rebuild but a little bumpy with grass trying to fill the few voids left. The fairways were a little sparse but they have overseeding in progress to help there. the bunkers were good but the fringe and edges need alot of work and care. May give it another try in a year or so to see if coneditions have improved.
Challenging but not in good shape
This is a community maintained course.
It is a continuous course that doesn't come back to the clubhouse at the 9th hole. The 1st and 18th holes are on the waterway and are beautiful. Then the rest of the course goes through the community. You even have to cross a 55 mph road going and coming back.
It has some narrow fairways which are hard. Lots of water. Water hazards between the tee and the fairway, water hazards between the fairway and the green, and water along the fairways. Lots of construction in the area. The course is not in very good shape. Hard to tell a difference between the tee box and the fairway and the green. The fairway is dryer and not in good shape. It wasn't crowded. They were surprised to have non-community people playing.
Don't sleep on this course
Was a pretty good course overall? I wasn't fine that there was no way amenities offered while playing. Like, you know, cart, girl or cart guy.
The grass was good being overseeded, so it was cart path, only which slowed me down a little bit. Of course layout was nice. The tea boxes didn't match up to The app as far as distance, but nevertheless, it was still fun. Good layout, challenging and the price was very good. Staff was super friendly.I would definitely play this course again
Greens
Greens were just replaced due to a disease issue and were a bit on the fury side of things.
Challenging but wouldn’t return
This is a community maintained course. Conditions were okay but not very good in mid November. Hard to tell the difference of the tee box from the fairway from the green. Very dry and lacking grass. Greens were very playable with little breaks or challenge. The course winds through the houses of the community, has narrow fairways, crosses a 55 mph road twice and and a smaller road twice, has a lot of water along the sides of the fairways, in front of the green and between the tee and the fairways. Makes it a challenging course. It is a continuous course meaning you don’t come back towards the club house until the 18th hole. Hole 1 and 18 are beautiful on the inter coastal waterway.
Golf Review
Greens were rough in various locations and course very narrow overall.
1st time
The course was in fair condition as there hasn't been a lot of rain in OIB over the last several months.
Course should be closed
Worst conditions I have ever experienced. Half the greens unputtable. Lots of patches on the greens. Tee boxes have no grass. Some were just mud or sand. Fairways ok as long as you play preferred lies. Bunkers ok but lots of small stones and shells. I guess they have no money. Any fee over $50 is a rip off. Played Brunswick plantation for the same price
It's 9 out of 10 condition wise. No comparison. Stay away from BL until they get their act together.
Always communicate with your customer
I felt it was wrong just to stick a stranger with our twosome without ASKING FIRST.
Should have mention parking lot was across the street with closer to the driving range before taking clubs out of vehicle.
Great staff poor conditions
The course looked and played like there are issues with their irrigation system.tee boxes were dust.
New greens
I heard they installed new greens. They definitely need some time to mature because several of them were pretty bad.
Not worth the money i paid to play. Wouldn't pay more than 35.00 for a course like this.
