About
River Ridge Golf Club is one of the finest public golf courses in Raleigh. The course sprawls across 100 acres in the heart of the Triangle, it's an easy 15-minute drive from downtown Raleigh. The lush green of the course contrasts beautifully with the Carolina blue skies. Mature trees frame most of the holes and there are a few lakes that come into play. The rolling terrain provides plenty of ups and downs throughout the golf course. Accuracy will be generously rewarded but it's not overly punishing for the high handicapper. The course's signature hole is the par-4 fifth, a 375-yard hole that can be conquered with smart play. Try to keep your long iron or fairway wood to the right of the fairway, which will give you a short iron approach into the green.

Good value course
Golf pass mid day hot deal for $25 with only 2 available, so I knew I would be paired with someone, if not a threesome. Got set up with a partner and the other 2 didn't show so we were a twosome. Starter insisted on pairing us together on a cart even though we would be using the same number of carts as a foursome. Finally the shop approved us each using a cart. We kept a good pace and finished under 4 hours, playing through 1 group. Course was a little soggy, so carts on path as expected. Good greens and tee fairways. Couple of beat up tee boxes. Definitely play it again when the weather is good.

Off the beaten path, nice course in pretty good shape. Fairways and greens are really quick, had fun playing a quick 9 on a winter afternoon

Slow Play
It was a pretty day but we had a foursome ahead of us that was enjoying it a little too much! They were 2 holes behind, we stood on the tee box with them on several holes and they made no offer for us to play thru. Called the clubhouse on #13, and they actually came out to tell the slow group to pick it up (thank you ranger).....should have called them around the 6th hole! Round could have been 30 min. faster easily.
Greens are good, fairways a little thin, damp but overall good condition for the winter.

Great place to play
Always enjoy playing here. Even though there was a big delay in the morning groups for some reason, the staff was able to sort things out pretty quickly for later on. Greens are in nice shape. Wonderful place to play.

A great Course
I played here almost every week during 2022. Course is in excellent shape and staff are always pleasant. This is a hidden gem and one that more people should take advantage of. Really like this layout.
