Excellent Day
Course in good shape, especially after all cold & rain.
Course in great shape!
This day we played the Piper and Bay courses. The greens were very true and running at moderate speed. Due to recent rains, some of the sand bunkers were not groomed as we would like, but did not detract from an enjoyable round. Sandpiper Bay is always a favorite "return to" course for us.
Sandpiper Bay 2/13/20
The course was in very good shape. Courteous, helpful staff. Great value. Played the Sand & Bay courses. Played a twosome and had the courses all to ourselves except for the last 6 holes when we caught up to a 3-some, then 4-some, but pace of play was fine, hardly had to wait much at all. We played from the white tees. Don't think total yardage was much more than 6300ish yards, but seemed to play longer--strong wind didn't help much.
Would definitely play again and again.
First Class Facility and Employees
From the bag drop to the pro shop, to the cart area, starter and ranger all friendly employees making sure your experience is easy and enjoyable. This has become one of my favorite courses based on the staff and the facilities and course conditions and value.
In addition to a great clubhouse there is a practice range, and large putting green.
All tee boxes and greens were in very good shape, and fairways are over seeded for winter and in fair condition. A little thin in some areas, but that can be expected for January and February. And I did experience a few bunkers but they had sufficient sand allowing escape !
Best of all unlike most other courses they have a ranger who will keep things moving !
I drive an hour each way to play here and plan to come at least once a month.
Golf with friends
Played the Bay and Sands todat. 90 degrees on the fairways, with some wet spots. Pace of play was great, seems like everyone else feared CPO.
Overall I would give it 4 1/2 stares, as there are still some bare spots, and looks like at some point, the greens were painted.
Will play again, during spring and am sure it will rate a solid 5 stars
Awesome Value
For Myrtle off-season, and considering they were pummelled by a storm two days earlier, this course was terrific! Great layout, the greens rolled so true. We wish we would have booked all of our vacation rounds here!
Fun to Play
We played the Piper and Bay courses this day. Course conditions were almost perfect, except greens were slightly inconsistent speeds on the Piper course. Fairways were excellent. Thankfully, we were riding fairways as cart paths are suffering from invasive tree roots in many places. Overall, Sandpiper Bay is fun to play and we will continue to rank it among our favorite courses.
Bill from Akron
Sandpiper was in great condition. The greens were soft and rolled well. The course had some soft areas near the greens, but overall the course played well. The pace of play was ideal for my wife and I.
Nice
Staff friendly great conditions greens some of the best anywhere. Free range balls chipping area. Highly recommend good price for a good course
Enjoyable
Everything in great shape greens roll great. Love playing here!!!
Sandpiper Bay - Sand/Piper
Always enjoy this course, friendly staff, but was cart path only due to rainfall night before. Two of the nine holes do not drain very well.
Another day in Paradise
Course was fine but they should refrain from booking too close.....waiting!
Spectacular
I can’t believe the value you get playing this course. It’s the best course I have ever played relative to the value of what I paid. Play it today!
Fun but challenging
Played the Piper to Bay nines . Good mixture of long and short holes that were a little more challenging because of the wind . Pace of play was good ( little over 4 hrs). Course in good condition but greens seemed a little slow. Overall, a fun round of golf
Tee time moved up
The course was in great shape except the greens were a little slow but was able to adjust after about 5 holes. However, I arrived at 9:15 in order to prepare for a 10 tee time. So I went to the driving range at 9:30 the ranger is screaming out my name from the shed and waving his arms for me to grab my bag and hurry up.
As I did, I was told that a storm was coming. Luckily, I was paired with two great guys that made the round really enjoyable. The storm never did come
and apparently we were the last tee times for the day because no one was behind us. I play at Sandpiper every time I visit but it always seems like the staff is always pushing you to tee off early or they run an hour behind. Besides that it is a great value and a great course.
Piper-Egret
Our foursome played the Piper and Egret courses. Everyone enjoyed the round. We gound the courses very well maintained and a bit challenging. Will go back to this course.
