Great Course - Fantastic GolfNow Value!
Sandpiper is an excellent course and the GolfNow price was better than making a tee time directly with the Proshop. I wish the course would add GPS to their carts.
Great greens
Great course, excellent greens and well organized and frendly operation. One of my go to courses in Myrtle Beach area!
Course marking
Had tro finding 1st tee box ,tro finding sand to fill divots, marking of distance on course need improvement overall good course
Don't be fooled by the attractive cost.
Long story short, the course is more concerned about cramming as many people on the course and rushing everyone over making sure their current customers are happy. Needless to say I will NEVER be returning to this course.
To start, we showed up the suggested 30 minutes prior to our tee time, and got rushed off to the first tee so they could "try to get everyone off a little early"
This left us with no time to warm up and flustered for the first hole.
On the second tee box, a maintenance worker was mowing the tee box. No worries, grass needs to be cut. As we approached the teee box, he stopped, got off the lawn mower, moved the tee markers off the box, and continued mowing ignoring us. after 5 minutes he finally left and we could continue play.
After the second hole we were greeted by an employee that asked if we were the first group and offered us water(i thought wow finally a pleasant person). At this point because of the lack of warm up and tee box fiasco, we are a hole behind.
A few more holes go by and we catch up and are only 10 minutes behind pace of play. and in the middle of hole 6 we are approached by a ranger and told to start playing Captain's Choice, instead of stroke play. We are 10 minutes behind pace, thats all. 10 minutes. On top of that the group behind us is no where in sight, why are we being rushed.
At the end of 9, we were asked to keep our turn short to try and make up the now 5 minutes we are behind pace. At this point i can't take it anymore and stop my round. We are causing no one to wait, we are being rushed, and my overall experience has been completely ruined.
While in the clubhouse expressing my concern to the manager, I am only met with excuses and more rudeness. I was offered a 9 hole raincheck for my trouble, but that isn't necessary because i will NEVER be back.
from Head Golf Professional Brett Thomaswick - At Sandpiper Bay we have a pace of play policy to ensure all members and guests have an enjoyable round of golf. The time par for 18 holes is 4 hours and 20 minutes. We offer 8 minute tee time intervals for proper spacing between groups.
We believe that pace of play is the responsibility of every player and try to solve any issues as quickly as possible. Our staff adheres to friendly interaction with all members and guests at all times.
We recommend guests arrive 30 minutes prior to their tee time to avoid being rushed and to enjoy the complimentary range balls before your round.
Having a 95% customer satisfaction rating is something we are all very proud of and will continue to strive for in the future.
Tour Level Rough
The rough is brutal, and that's no joke. The course is in great shape. Tee, fairways, and greens. The greens have been punched in the last couple of weeks but roll true. The staff was outstanding. Great course for the price.
Warning
Nice course, but if you hit a good shot don't expect to find it. Down the center might as well be off the planet
from Head Golf Professional Brett Thomaswick - At Sandpiper Bay we keep the rough at 2 1/4" during the summer months. Our bermuda rough does get thick with the hot wet weather but is more manageable in the spring and fall.
can you elaborate on that?
Wow
Great course in excellent shape. Didn't see any putts bump or bobble. Truest greens I've played this year. Fun round except my brother beat me 15. And I shot an 88
from Head Golf Professional Brett Thomaswick - thank you for your kind comments, come back and play a rematch against your brother!
Play half the break you see on the greens to make more putts at Sandpiper Bay.
Bang for the buck
First let me say a super friendly staff top to bottom. Above average fairways, and true rolling and greens that where in great shape
.a good mix of holes
from Head Professional Brett Thomaswick - thank you for your kind comments, we look forward to seeing you again in the future.
Best Buy
For the price, you get the most, water, super greens and fairways, chipping greens, big putting green, free range balls, great staff.........as good as it gets. My favorite at the beach!
from Head Golf Professional - Thank you for your comments, we hope to see you again!
Really liked the course
I will definitely play here again....probably every time I am in the area.
from Head Golf Professional Brett Thomaswick - thank you for your comments, you are welcome to return anytime!
Excellent for the money
Course was in good shape. Pace was a little to slow for our liking, but a great experience overall. Would definitely play again.
Favorite Beach Course!
Sandpiper Bay is probably our favorite NC/SC beach course... And I've played most of them. 27 holes , 3 completely different nines, always in great shape it's the best golf value on the strand- especially at $25!
Great Condition especially for money
Super fun course, especially for the money. I played with two other guys and they had played five other courses that week, they said this one was the best condition out of the ones they played. Staff was good. Fairways were nice. Greens are big and healthy. Sand bunkers were good, they used machines to rake not by hand. The pace was really slow, but that wasnt the resorts fault, we just got behind some slow golfers. Pretty simple course, but challenging enough to keep you honest. I will go back next year. I wish I had it next to me, I would play it every week.
Hot day/
Temperatures were almost 100° and the course was suffering a bit, especially some of the fairways which had some bare spots. Typical beach course, but fun to play and had some good holes. We were a twosome and were going to be following five foursomes which was going to make for a slow day. Starter took us onto another nine which didn't have as much traffic and we moved around very quickly. Great deal for the price
Excellent Golf
This was the first time I played this Sandpiper and was very impressed with the staff. They were very helpful. The conditions of the courseware great, the fairways were green and not brown and the greens were well maintained. I really found the course challenging. I look forward to playing this course again soon.
Sandpiper
Course was in excellent shape tee to green! The greens were awesome! Will play again and a good bargain
from head golf professional Brett Thomaswick - thank you for your comments, come back, and see us anytime!
Tree lined fairways, look for the water flags.
Great course for every skill level. Tee boxes are senior friendly, and lady friendly. Nice clubhouse to relax after the round to have lunch and a cold beverage.
from PGA Heda Professional Brett Thomaswick - Sandpiper Bay features three starting holes which our starter informs you before your round. All sand to fill divots is located in bottles attached to the cart bin. On course we feature 150yard black/white poles with red, white, and blue plates in the fairways to indicate yardages.
