Eagle Chase Golf Club

Eagle Chase is a jewel in the Charlotte area. I have played just about every public course in the area and none can match this place. Super driving range chipping area and putting greens. The staff could not be friendlier and you get a real feeling that they are glad you are there and want you to come back.

The other golfers are friendly and the pace of play is excellent. We never wait and if you are a twosome the foursomes let you play through after a friendly request you not hold them up. We see many older and younger golfers but everyone seems to understand playing from the tees that match your skills. Even though it is 40 minutes of travel to play here it is my favorite.

This course is in the best condition of all the courses we play. The terrain is more like a high piedmont or mountain course with elevation changes that are challenging. The rough is fair but there is a penalty for errant shots as there should be. The greens roll true and are fast for public play. The areas around the greens are always well maintained and the traps and bunkers are all the same grain and sand conditions. What you get in each bunker is consistent which is very important if you play the ball where it lies..

There are no short par 3s. But the par fours and fives are fair distances for me at 71 years old.from the senior(gold) tees.

The course was is great shape and challenging enough to enjoy with various tee boxes for handicap. The cart path needed some work but that’s didn’t deter the fun.

Every green, every fairway, every tee box, every trap was perfect. Scenic views from several elevated tees. Pinetree lined fairways reminded me of Augusta National.

This is a great course with some unique elevation holes for Union County. I got a great deal online and was paired with some nice guys. The greens are zoysia grass which to be honest were springy nice and true to the roll. The course is taken care of and the staff was well organized and ready for the Thursday morning crowd. We moved along nicely and our foursome played right at 4 hours. Might be my new favorite—and will definitely be playing again.

Played 23 rounds of golf this summer at a variety of different courses near the Charlotte area. This place was by far the best course I’ve played. Greens are in immaculate shape. Might be the nicest public course I’ve ever played. Would highly recommend to anyone.

Had a 8:20a tee time. Greens were mowed by 7a & groups were going off early. They have diamond zoysia, which I’ve never played or heard of. They look fast but you had to whack it if you were putting uphill. Speed changed throughout the day as the sun evaporated the evening dew.

The guy behind the counter showed us around since it was my first time. Amenities we meh as was the range. At least it had a chipping area. Range balls are due to be replaced.

All that to say, I’ll be coming back.

Birdied the first hole! The front nine is somewhat challenging and prepares you for the tougher back 9. The greens rolled true and all tee boxes and fairways were in great shape. The course is a great challenge with great views from every hole!

The course was in great shape! Pace of play was great on front 9. It slowed down some on the backside. Great course and conditions for the money!

A very enjoyable round, not an easy course but very interesting.

Eagles Chase is a fantastic golf course. Greens and fairways are beautiful. Wonderful elevation, changes, water, dog legs. A fine track. Doesn’t play as long as you might think as the elevation offers a bit of depth perception challenges. Some blind shots but otherwise a fantastic course. They do need a Marshall to actively move play along, otherwise a terrific day.

Greens probably 1 week away from being perfect after a recent aeration but I was impressed with this course. A lot of elevation change as advertised and a handful of holes with narrow fairways/landing areas call for accurate tee shots. Well maintained.

Best course in Charlotte, bar none. Great layout, great condition, excellent value. Always worth the 45 minute drive from Charlotte!
