Eagle Chase Golf Club is tucked away in the rolling hills of northern Union County, surrounded by nothing but acres of countryside and farmland. The secluded locale is ideal for golf, especially since it is conveniently situated less than an hour from Charlotte. The course tumbles across lush green hills and valleys, providing almost every hole with an elevated tee or green. The undulating layout definitely plays like a mountain golf course with even lies being hard to find and a few blind shots to contend with. Water hazards come into play on seven holes, including the first three and the 12th hole, an uphill par 3 that is one of the golf course's most difficult. In addition to the course, Eagle Chase G.C. also offers a driving range, practice bunker, and chipping and putting greens.

Greens were punched a couple of weeks ago and are still recovering. Will be a couple of weeks before fully healed. Great layout w some tricky holes that need local knowledge. Worth the trip from Charlotte .

Recently aerated, but greens have problems

I’m a big fan of the course and play there regularly, however as of recent, the greens are not looking good, and certainly aren’t rolling smooth like normal.

Hopefully they will get that resolved quickly,

For now expect your putting lines to be impacted and slow.

Look forward to that getting cleared up!

Great and challenging course

Position matters on several holes as expected. Lots of tipped fairways and well designed catch areas to prevent ball from disappearing after rolling off the green. Greens have a lot of slope to them but were recently punched so they played weird. That is not a knock on the course but evidence of good maintenance.

That time of year...greens were punched the previous day. Back nine was closed. Had to play front nine twice. Got stuck behind 2 foursomes where at least 3 didn't know how to golf. Why dont golfers learn how to golf on the range?...Not the course.

Fair course with a very unique, mountain-esque, layout. Lots of elevation changes with a multitude of heavily slanted fairways means you MUST be accurate off the tee box. Approach shots aren't much easier as the greens are riddled with lots of undulation. If you're not in the fairway, you're likely making bogey +. Conditions great, and the grass box driving range is incredible. Show up early because there's also a chipping/pitching green, practice bunker, and large putting green; unique for any course in Charlotte. Only thing negative about this course is that it's in the middle of nowhere about 45 mins from city center. Worth the drive.

I am hesitant to provide a review because I want this course to REMAIN "the little known secret that provides a big course feel at a reasonable price..." After I thought about it, I realized that that was not fair to the course or its staff. This is a GREAT public course and everyone associated with it is a dedicated professional. It doesn't matter if you are speaking to the pro, checking in at the desk, or chatting with the guy cutting back the rough...EVERYONE is a professional. Eagle Chase boasts a fantastic layout with serious elevation changes, switchbacks to both sides, water, towering mature trees, and sand that looks like fine sugar. Of the 40+ courses in the Charlotte area, I have played at least 3/4ths of them and this has never fallen out of my top 5.

Course is in great shape. Well worth the hour drive to play. Front nine was a little slow with the foursome in front of us. They finally let my husband and I play through on the back nine. Back nine was much faster with no one in front of us. Definitely will make the trip back to play.

This is a must play.

A enjoyable course to play if you can both draw and fade the ball. I enjoyed the extremes in elevation on this beautiful course. Fairway are wide for the most part but are sloping right or left so a shot can run out if not hit on its high side. Green are fast. I rated the course condition as average but only because it the beginning of spring.
