Eagle Chase Golf Club

About
Eagle Chase Golf Club is tucked away in the rolling hills of northern Union County, surrounded by nothing but acres of countryside and farmland. The secluded locale is ideal for golf, especially since it is conveniently situated less than an hour from Charlotte. The course tumbles across lush green hills and valleys, providing almost every hole with an elevated tee or green. The undulating layout definitely plays like a mountain golf course with even lies being hard to find and a few blind shots to contend with. Water hazards come into play on seven holes, including the first three and the 12th hole, an uphill par 3 that is one of the golf course's most difficult. In addition to the course, Eagle Chase G.C. also offers a driving range, practice bunker, and chipping and putting greens.

Great course
This course feels like the middle of nowhere but is close to everything. Such a relaxing ride out to the course. The course itself has a relaxed vibe. No houses on the course. Greens and fairways in great shape. The course is challenging without being unfair for the average golfer. I plan to come to Eagle Chase more often.
Nice layout. Corrie’s in good shape. Greens run true but a little slow and fuzzy

Hello, u314164820746. Thank you for visiting us at Eagle Chase Golf Club. We appreciate your 4-star rating and review. We hope you join us for another round soon.
I love this course
Eagle Chase is probably the best course I’ve played in a long time. It has a lot going to for it. Conditions are very good, layout is great. Lots of variety on holes. You get to play a lot of different shots and you have options on how to play each hole. It’s a little over an hour drive for me and it’s worth every minute.
There are some magnificent views off some of the tees, the par 3s on the front especially. They made good use of the land with some interesting elevation changes and contours on the course. Bunkers are in good shape. A lot of golf courses, especially those out in the country can be flat, boring and ineptly kept. Eagle Chase is none of those things. It’s a gem. They know what they are doing there and it shows.

Hello and thank you for your 5-star rating! We're thrilled to hear you enjoyed the variety, conditions, and views at Eagle Chase, and we appreciate your kind words about our course's unique layout and maintenance.

Must play...bring balls...and golf balls also.
Elevated tee boxes, risk reward holes, if you slice the ball a lot, it will bring you to your knees. Fair price, and great condition! I've only once in 6 times playing it, have made it under my handicap.

I’ll come back anytime
Best course in the charlotte area for the price. Just a little bit of a drive.

The best. Greens. Fairways. Course layout. Staff.
Augusta native. Work in Atlanta Charlotte DC. I know great golf courses. Tuesday I played a private top course in Aiken SC. First class. Exquisite conditions and 5 Star facilities. My caddie fee was many times the green fee at Eagle Chase. Had not played Eagle Chase in at least a year. Always a must play though when possible. Was paired with 3 local members. 5 star company. Rushed in for 8 am tee time. Forgot wallet. Staff said just go to first tee to make tee time. Return afterwards with wallet. 5 star staff. Eagle Chase conditions. Tee through Green were every bit equal to SV. Phenomenal course. On every level. No one believes me. Until they join me and play. The best. Even saw a real life bald eagle. First Class / 5 star golf and day.

We're thrilled to hear your experience at Eagle Chase matched the excellence you've encountered at top courses and that our conditions, staff, and the majestic sight of a bald eagle contributed to your first-class day. Your high praise as an experienced golfer means a lot to us, and we look forward to your next visit.
Deserverdly Called a Hidden Gem
I have been playing this course on and off for close to two decades, beginning with the very first visit with my son when we foolishly opted to walked. I definitely don't recomment that. Over the years factors such as cost and proximity limited my return because there were cheaper and closer options. Another factor for me was the difficulty from the regular tees. It can be a challenging course. However, since moving up to the senior tees, I have found that if I play well, I can score well and with that hurdle out of the way, the variety and scenic beauty of the holes can take center stage. Several of the holes have elevation changes that you wouild not think possible in this part of NC. The greens are great and the course in general is in great shape. As for cost and proxmity, given the current Charlotte golf environment, Eagle Chase has become a viable option and is very nerar the top of my list of courses I like to play. HIghly recommended.

Thank you for your loyalty over the years and sharing your evolved experience at our golf course. We're thrilled to hear how much you've come to enjoy the variety and beauty of the course, and we look forward to welcoming you back for many more rounds.
Slow Course
The front nine went well until the last couple of holes, when it began to get backed up. When we got to Hole 10 there were three carts lined up in front of us….I suspect people were teeing off who didn’t start at Hole 1. We had to abandon play as we could not afford to waste so much time waiting to play.

Best Course In Union County
Eagle Chase never disappoints. It keeps getting better and better. If you’ve never played the course, I highly recommend playing it.

Great layout
We are from Pennsylvania and visiting friends. We have played this course twice. Course was in great shape even with the excessive heat. Happy to see the water jugs out around the course. Will happily play this track again when we come back.

Mountain course near the city
Eagle Chase is 45 minute or so drive east of Charlotte. Though it is near at metropolis, it plays much more like a mountain course. Most every hole has some degree of elevation change with some tee / second shots requiring a 30+ foot change.
Layout is fair and requires one to move the ball both directions. I played the white tees which are just over 6000 yards but play shorter. From this box, the par 3's are a little disappointing as all were < 140 yards. There is an ample driving range but is quite hilly also. Unlike many other semi-private courses in this price range, there is a nice, well maintained chipping green. However, the putting green leaves room for improvement. It does resemble course conditions and speed, but is very sloped making it hard to practice speed.
Clubhouse has the typical equipment/clothing for sale and a bar / restaurant. It was over 90 degrees on a holiday when I played, yet there was no beverage cart which was disappointing.

Thank you for sharing your detailed experience at Eagle Chase. We apologize for the absence of our beverage cart on a hot day and appreciate your feedback on enhancing our putting green and overall experience.
Arizona Native
First time to play a NC course. My home state Arizona, where courses quite different. Love the course, le fun holes, the very good greens. Learned to sweat...lol
Not fond of carts, which had Governor set at difficult level to operate smoothly. But the importance stuff, i.e., the course, was excellent. We, my wife and I, shall return. I'm an 8 handicap here.

Thank you for sharing your experience and the kind words about our course! We're sorry to hear about the difficulty with the carts and will look into it for a smoother ride next time. We look forward to welcoming you and your wife back!
