Eagle Chase Golf Club
About
Eagle Chase Golf Club is tucked away in the rolling hills of northern Union County, surrounded by nothing but acres of countryside and farmland. The secluded locale is ideal for golf, especially since it is conveniently situated less than an hour from Charlotte. The course tumbles across lush green hills and valleys, providing almost every hole with an elevated tee or green. The undulating layout definitely plays like a mountain golf course with even lies being hard to find and a few blind shots to contend with. Water hazards come into play on seven holes, including the first three and the 12th hole, an uphill par 3 that is one of the golf course's most difficult. In addition to the course, Eagle Chase G.C. also offers a driving range, practice bunker, and chipping and putting greens.

Deserverdly Called a Hidden Gem
I have been playing this course on and off for close to two decades, beginning with the very first visit with my son when we foolishly opted to walked. I definitely don't recomment that. Over the years factors such as cost and proximity limited my return because there were cheaper and closer options. Another factor for me was the difficulty from the regular tees. It can be a challenging course. However, since moving up to the senior tees, I have found that if I play well, I can score well and with that hurdle out of the way, the variety and scenic beauty of the holes can take center stage. Several of the holes have elevation changes that you wouild not think possible in this part of NC. The greens are great and the course in general is in great shape. As for cost and proxmity, given the current Charlotte golf environment, Eagle Chase has become a viable option and is very nerar the top of my list of courses I like to play. HIghly recommended.
Slow Course
The front nine went well until the last couple of holes, when it began to get backed up. When we got to Hole 10 there were three carts lined up in front of us….I suspect people were teeing off who didn’t start at Hole 1. We had to abandon play as we could not afford to waste so much time waiting to play.
Hello, u314165427260. Thank you for visiting us at Eagle Chase Golf Club. We appreciate your 4-star rating and review. We hope you join us for another round soon.
Best Course In Union County
Eagle Chase never disappoints. It keeps getting better and better. If you’ve never played the course, I highly recommend playing it.
Great people.

Great layout
We are from Pennsylvania and visiting friends. We have played this course twice. Course was in great shape even with the excessive heat. Happy to see the water jugs out around the course. Will happily play this track again when we come back.

Mountain course near the city
Eagle Chase is 45 minute or so drive east of Charlotte. Though it is near at metropolis, it plays much more like a mountain course. Most every hole has some degree of elevation change with some tee / second shots requiring a 30+ foot change.
Layout is fair and requires one to move the ball both directions. I played the white tees which are just over 6000 yards but play shorter. From this box, the par 3's are a little disappointing as all were < 140 yards. There is an ample driving range but is quite hilly also. Unlike many other semi-private courses in this price range, there is a nice, well maintained chipping green. However, the putting green leaves room for improvement. It does resemble course conditions and speed, but is very sloped making it hard to practice speed.
Clubhouse has the typical equipment/clothing for sale and a bar / restaurant. It was over 90 degrees on a holiday when I played, yet there was no beverage cart which was disappointing.
Thank you for sharing your detailed experience at Eagle Chase. We apologize for the absence of our beverage cart on a hot day and appreciate your feedback on enhancing our putting green and overall experience.
Arizona Native
First time to play a NC course. My home state Arizona, where courses quite different. Love the course, le fun holes, the very good greens. Learned to sweat...lol
Not fond of carts, which had Governor set at difficult level to operate smoothly. But the importance stuff, i.e., the course, was excellent. We, my wife and I, shall return. I'm an 8 handicap here.
Thank you for sharing your experience and the kind words about our course! We're sorry to hear about the difficulty with the carts and will look into it for a smoother ride next time. We look forward to welcoming you and your wife back!
Eagle Chase
Course was in good shape. Greens were fine. We couldn't play #11 as they were working on ground reparations in fairway area. That will be ready to play in couple days. The course has a lot of elevation changes that will test your skills. Overall a fun course to play.
Picturesque course and that’s it
This is a beautiful course. Enjoyed the practice area.. I was able to hit a full bucket of balls due to the lack of staff presence and the abundant leftovers from previous golfers. Carts lacked sufficient power to get up the more demanding hills. No beverage cart. Just water jugs every 6 holes. It’s a drive to get to and there’s nothing around so playing the course is really all you’re going to do. Restaurants and gas stations are a short drive away. Parking lot is oddly designed with only one entrance/exit onto the road. It’s a challenging course but most fairways are still accommodating to a mishit off the tee. Overall, it’s worth playing… once.
Thank you for your review and for highlighting both the positives and the areas we need to work on. We apologize for the inconveniences you experienced with the carts and will look into improving those aspects.
Overcrowded
Do not play this course unless you have 6 hours to kill. They book way too many tee times. Save yourself the trouble.
We apologize for your frustrating experience with our booking system and pace of play. Thank, you for sharing your feedback; we are working on improving our scheduling to ensure a more enjoyable experience.
Good course, bad communication.
It would have been nice to know that aeration had just happened on the front 9, and the back 9 was closed to complete aeration. Wouldn't have booked 18, or would have expected a discounted price because of it. Leaves a bad taste in my mouth for an otherwise good round and solid track.
Hi, u314163069083. We appreciate you taking the time to review the course and rate us. Thank you for the 4 stars! We aim for a 5-star experience, so we always welcome feedback for improvement. Thank you for playing Eagle Chase Golf Club.
Want to Place the Course Not Buy it!
They just keep raising the rates on this course in the middle of nowhere and on top of that make little to no effort to keep tee times and pace of play at a reasonable rate. Players just show up out of nowhere and clog up the course and make play miserable. Better choices in the area for sure but increasingly, this one is not what it used to be. If you do decide to play it, be prepared to be extremely patient and what the heck, your kids don't need to go to college anyway.
We’re truly sorry to hear about your disappointing experience with our rate changes and pace of play. We appreciate your feedback and will work towards improving these aspects for a better experience.
Thank you for your loyalty over the years and sharing your evolved experience at our golf course. We're thrilled to hear how much you've come to enjoy the variety and beauty of the course, and we look forward to welcoming you back for many more rounds.
