The 18-hole Panther's Run at Ocean Ridge Plantation in Ocean Isle Beach, North Carolina is a public golf course that opened in 1994. Designed by Tim Cate, Panther's Run at Ocean Ridge Plantation measures 7089 yards from the longest tees and has a slope rating of 140 and a 73.7 USGA rating. The course features 4 sets of tees for different skill levels. The greens are bent and the fairways are bermuda.
Panther's Run was born to be a different kind of challenge than Lion's Paw. Golf course designer Tim Cate has unleashed this cat to prowl along the edge of a natural preserve and continually tests your ability to stay out of, or hit over, the surrounding marsh land. Wide fairways that twist and turn with a variety of elevations, plus scenic water features blend perfectly.
The front nine picks its way through hardwood forest while the back nine is more open. The course is laid out along the edge of a natural preserve and tests golfers' ability to negotiate the surrounding marsh land and water. The fairways twist and turn and show a variety of elevations, as much as 60 feet in fact.

Enjoyable game
My wife and I had a wonderful afternoon at Panther Run!
We enjoyed the layout, the wildlife, the beautiful houses, ponds and forests. The greens are in poor shape. The staff were friendly.
Pathetic
We arrived for our first tee time. They let me pay for the play, and then they told us we couldn’t play because of the dress code. My husband had jeans on. When I asked for a refund, they refused , he crumbled my receipt up, threw it behind the counter, and proceeded to say we only give rain checks.
When we returned yesterday to play, I was not going to give them the almost one hundred dollars it cost. We played, and the greens were the worst greens I’ve ever played in my life they were not only Sandy they were worse than Astroturf, diseased, absolutely horrendous.
Disappointed
Course was in poor condition, especially the greens which i would call un put table. Area of no grass. Tufts of what I would guess was rye popping up all over the dormant Bermuda greens. Ground fairly hard even with recent rains. Distance on cards and hole plaques didn't always correspond with reality. Not the first time I've played here and the same issues of maintenance. Won't be back
Everything great except greens
Course layout is great, staff was friendly, prices good. Only negative was that the greens were in tough shape

Raining all morning but still had a great time. A very fun course to play try it you will enjoy
Nice layout
Panthers Run has a very nice layout and is very playable. The greens could be in a little better shape, but it is early in the year. I would definitely play there again.
Panthers Run
Course was in good condition for this time of year. The fairways were over seeded and good. The rough is still dormant Bermuda. The greens were the biggest issue. They were hard (needing aeration) and several areas were bald needing repair. When putting, they made a sound like putting on a table top. When you hit the green with the ball on an approach shot, it did not leave a mark. They were that hard.

TheTifEagle bermuda greens are dormant for the winter right now, but they are now beginning to break dormancy and will green up quickly for the spring. The weaker areas will also thicken up nicely as well and these greens should be in great shape for the golf season and beyond! We hope you will come visit us again soon!

Good for Price
Greens were in bad shape. Rest of course was good.

Great layout
Fun course and good shape for the time of year. Pace of play was good our group played 36. We were visiting the area and it was worth the stop. Food is also good they have breakfast sandwiches and a full lunch menu.
