About
The 18-hole Panther's Run at Ocean Ridge Plantation in Ocean Isle Beach, North Carolina is a public golf course that opened in 1994. Designed by Tim Cate, Panther's Run at Ocean Ridge Plantation measures 7089 yards from the longest tees and has a slope rating of 140 and a 73.7 USGA rating. The course features 4 sets of tees for different skill levels. The greens are bent and the fairways are bermuda.
Panther's Run was born to be a different kind of challenge than Lion's Paw. Golf course designer Tim Cate has unleashed this cat to prowl along the edge of a natural preserve and continually tests your ability to stay out of, or hit over, the surrounding marsh land. Wide fairways that twist and turn with a variety of elevations, plus scenic water features blend perfectly.
The front nine picks its way through hardwood forest while the back nine is more open. The course is laid out along the edge of a natural preserve and tests golfers' ability to negotiate the surrounding marsh land and water. The fairways twist and turn and show a variety of elevations, as much as 60 feet in fact.

Greens rough shape
Greens were really rough. Poa and fungus. Nothing memorable about layout. Friendly staff and decent 19th hole.
Value Plus $$
Decent condition. Some greens didn't make it through winter in places.
Some Bunkers being reworked.
Good layout. Washrooms open.
Clubhouse staff friendly.
Nuve bar & grill.

Fun course, needs work
Had a great time on the course and with the people we were paired with. The course layout was good. Many of the greens were in rough shape. The holes were positioned so that it only interfered with a few if you hit it close. The cart said she was covering two courses, so we only saw her on #3 and #18. She was very friendly. The bag drop guys and starter were very nice. I will play here again but will wait until late April or May to give the greens a chance to recover. Prices seem a little high to me. Not sure why most courses have raised prices by 50% when most other life costs have gone up by 20%.
Greens Keepers Revenge
Course was in better shape than I expected. A few greens were struggling, but all in all, decent!
Only complaint... GREENS KEEPER'S REVENGE!! The pin placements were challenging, to say the least, and deceivingly fast!!!

Good course. Good Deal
Got a GolfNow t time for 7:36 am. Paired with another single. Never saw another golfer all day. Interesting layout. Really enjoyed the course. Some of the greens had some issues with the grass on them. But nothing too bad.

Nice course for the money
The course was in pretty good shape. Tee boxes were a little beat up but not unusual in the winter time. Overall the greens were pretty good. A couple had some rough patches but nothing too bad. A lot of dogleg holes which kept it interesting.
