Big Course
It was my first time here and it was a pleasant surprise. The staff was very friendly and because I was early and the tee was open they let me go when I was ready.
The course is rolling with wide fairways lined with tall pine trees. The greens are big, in great shape and roll true. Some of the traps are a little rough. They play more like waste areas, which fits in with the sandhill terrain. The rough is lush but not very penalizing. There are just one or two forced carries. All but two holes provide a ground route to the green. The tee boxes are in good shape but need to be leveled again.
The only thing to beware is the cart path. The pine tree roots have created a thousand speed bumps in the cart path. If you aren't careful about where you drive you can get beat up by the end of the day.
It was a bit of a drive for me but worth it and I will return. Next time I am bringing quarters so I can buy the pellets to feed the fish and turtles between the 13th an 14th holes. They were ready but I was not!
Fantastic
The course is in fantastic shape! Friendly staff too!
Great Place To Play!
Everything is in great shape and I look forward to playing there again soon!
beautiful course
As I was driving in I thought is this a very nice course in a state park or a very nice park with a golf course.
Just beautiful!
I'll be back often.
Great Course
Course is in great shape from tee to greens! Has become my favorite course because of staff friendliness and Course conditions!
The course is very scenic
Had a good time. I always meet someone new. I will be going back soon.
Free State
This course was in best condition since I started playing it 10 years ago . Great value for money
Good course to play. Has a good layout with some tough holes. Always enjoy playing there.Price not bad. But a long ride for our foursome as we have to drive around an hour to get there, but we go often as we can because the course is usually in good shape and worth the trip.
I have played this course many times and is a great value. The course is never crowded and is kept in good condition.
Brilliant all round golf course.
Very challenging course off the blue tees, picturesque and in great condition, the staff working were very welcoming. Will definitely be playing there again, soon.
One of my favorites
I have to drive over an hour to get to this course but it's worth it occasionally. My partner and I had nobody within sight all day so we played at our own pace. The course has always been in great shape every time I have been here playing occasionally for the past 8 or 9 years. Truly a wonderful experience especially with the Golfnow prices.
The course is in great shape
This is now the third time I've played this course! The layout is awesome and the course is in great shape considering there has been a tremendous amount of rain lately! Still the course played true and had fun playing. Will be back!
Beautiful Course
This is one of our favorite golf courses, it is a beautiful course!! The staff was awesome too!!
Hidden gem in South Carolina!
I played this course for the first time after getting a great deal. The staff was very courteous and professional. The course was very picturesque and it would provide a challenge for golfers regardless of level. I would recommend playing this course as it was a first-class experience. The only criticism I have was the pace of play.
A Gem in the Pines
As a Canadian, who plays mainly public courses, we don't have many that compare with this State Park gem. The day was perfect and although they had had a tremendous amount of rain the course was in great condition. Pace of play was a little slow but we were a twosome following foursomes so that's understandable. Greens were fast and true and there is a nice mixture of difficulty with the course layout. My second time playing there and my wife's first. She loved the scenery and would love to come back when we're in the area.
