Lancaster Golf Club

First and probably my only time playing. The greens are the only thing that are in good shape. I was able to book this round on GolfNow for twenty bucks, and that is the most you should pay to play here.

We enjoyed the friendliness of people. Even though there were just two of us, they did not pair us with others and we appreciated that. While loading our car post-round, a club member noticed our !aine plates and took the time to come over and thank us for playing the course. We will come here again.

Fun and challenging layout, yet a very playable course. Well worth the 45min ride to get there.

Played course many times. Hole layouts test all levels of player. Condition of course is great all year.

Course is in excellent condition. Greens are very well kept and are very fast. Staff is very customer friendly and very professional. Lancaster Country Club and it's dynamic 18 hole layout is a great rest of golf and a rewarding golf experience.

Front nine is open and the back gets a bit tighter with trees, but not much water or OB on this course. It is about 45-1hour from Charlotte, but worth the drive if you have time.

Older course yet well maintained. Greens were great. Not as long as some courses. Fun place and worth the value!

The course was in great shape. The greens rolled very smooth and fast, some were easy three putts. Great place to play!!!!

This has to be one of the best value courses in the area, as long as you don't mind the short drive out of Charlotte. Saturday afternoon rounds in 3 hours for a 2 ball can't be beat in the area. The course is a little dry in places at the moment due to lack of rain, but the greens are fast and fair and the rough has been kept short. Two of the par 3s on the back nine are quite tough for my 18 handicapper level, ie as a lady playing the red tees i have to try and manufacture a shot shape to land on a green using a driver as my 3 wood comes up short on the hill. Overall though a thoroughly enjoyable course. The amenities are a little basic, but the staff is friendly and the beer is cold, what more can you ask.

It was 200 plus mile round trip for me to play but no regrets!! From the friendly Staff to the Great condition ( greens had been recently sanded but still putted true AND fast) of the course everything was just great. Can't wait to play Lancasrer again!!

First trip to Lancaster Golf Club, and it definitely won't be my last. Staff was very friendly. Ranger was on the course and actually doing his job in moving people along. The club has a nice clubhouse, driving range and practice green. The course iteself is kind of two in one. The front nine is very links-like with rolling hills and not a lot of trees. The back nine weaves through trees. Most of the holes give you ample room off the tee, so feel free to pull driver. A few doglegs make tee ball placement important, however. There is quite a decent amount of elevation change hole by hole. Most of the greens are guarded by bunkers, which make accurate approaches a must. The greens themselves were in great shape, save for a section that had been replaced on #10. They had good speed without being too fast. They had a fair amount of break in them, and reading them correctly is a key to scoring. This course is over an hour from my house, but I liked it enough that I will definitely find the time to play it again soon.

Greens had been punched a few weeks back. That was the only downside as the course is beautiful and well kept.

This course has been here for many yrs. I have played this course many times over the yrs merely because when I lived in Lancaster it was close, and at that time was in excellent shape, Spongy bent grass greens with back-up-boogaloo ball action.

I live in Wisconsin for last 8 yrs. For the harsh winters we have here and SC to have less than moderate winters, I am ashamed to return home and play on a course for that amount of money for the condition it was in. The worst course i have ever played on in Wisconsin for $20 puts the $30 + it cost at Lancaster. Wisconsin courses (all that I have played) for a fraction of the cost are far superior. Lancaster seems to just pay little or....NO attention to the course if u hit the ball off the fairway several yards. Anything off the fairway for most of the course was NOT kept up at all, roots, NO grass, washed out areas. I was just surprised the course conditon after course has been in existence so long, the greens were hard, did not even really make a divot even if u were sky high approach, they had sand / fertilizer on them which we were not told prior to booking or playing. That should always be a courtesy info giving to a golfer before paying or playing. If I had known, I would have went somewhere else. Of course i suppose i could have asked, but being May, I would not have expected that, its not even like that here in Wisconsin.Maybe it is just the economy but i would have expected more from an older course, Sorry for bad review but, $$ v/s course should equal out.just saying

Greens were just punched so I may have lost a few strokes but hey, this is a great course with a great layout. Fairways are in beautiful condition. The people treat you like a customer here! The dogs are super and the beer is cold and reasonably priced. What more could you ask for? Well worth the drive! Overall, one of the very best Springs courses!

Everything about this course is excellent. Course condition was tremendous. Very tricky greens but very true. Layout is challenging with some very good and beautiful holes. Will definitely play here again
