Pohick Bay Regional Park Golf Course in Lorton has been one of the area's most popular public courses since it opened in the early 1980s. Playing at Pohick Bay is like playing two golf courses in one, with a front nine that has long, tree-lined fairways and a hillier back nine that features a variety of doglegs and water holes. It is a definitely a shot-maker's course so be prepared to use some creativity and some thoughtful strategizing doesn’t hurt either. The constant up and down of the golf course provides uneven lies and a number of blind shots. The dramatic terrain also makes it a tough course to walk. Trees frame most of the holes, demanding accuracy but also providing a peaceful and secluded feel. Pohick Bay Regional Park Golf Course is popular amongst locals for being one of the most challenging and yet also one of the most affordable courses in the area.

On a brutally hot day…
Grateful for the cold water oases, quick pace of play, and course in good condition.

Post 4th of july
Hot and humid day made 5-hour round tough. Marshall needs to move slow group along perhaps by skipping a hole. Course in very good shape, Water was cold at the oases.

Good track
First time on the course. Enjoyed the round with the duo I was paired with. Pace was okay for it being a Sunday afternoon. Had a foursome with one walker in front of us, but the walker only played nine holes. The course is in decent shape but the greens are a little dry. Felt like I was going to lose control of the cart because of the steep terrain and some of the cart paths need repairs. Overall a solid experience; I would play again if I am in the area.

Excellent course for the money.
An excellent golf course with a great driving range. Unfortunately the golf carts are gas powered and the cart paths are in need of resurfacing. But for that, I would give Pohick Bay 5 stars.
