About
The 18-hole Eagle's Pointe Golf Club in Bluffton, S.C. is a public course that opened in 1998. Designed by Davis Love III, Eagle's Pointe measures 6,738 yards from the longest tees and has a slope rating of 130 and a 72.5 USGA rating. The course features 4 sets of tees for different skill levels.
The hallmarks of Eagle's Pointe are its classical, risk-reward design, natural beauty, strategy, variety and superb conditioning, along with outstanding customer service.
Winding through stands of moss-draped live oaks and pines and fresh-water wetlands and lagoons, Eagle's Pointe Golf Club's spacious corridors allow the golfer to keep driver in hand, while its dramatic bunkering, unique green sites and contoured putting surfaces combine to create one of the most exciting venues in the South Carolina Lowcountry.

It’s gone way downhill
This used to be one of my favorite courses 10 years ago. I came back to Hilton Head and expected the same. It’s in awful shape. The greens are gone. I don’t think the grass has been cut in weeks.
The greens had just been aerated which is fine but the issue is there’s almost no grass on them. We quit after 9 holes because it was so bad.

GREAT LAYOUT
The course has a great layout for great golf. The down side is the greens are in REALLY BAD SHAPE. There might have been 2 out of 18 greens that were decent to put on.

Greens
The Greens were mostly unplayable. Everything else was good, but it did kind of ruin it.

GREAT LAYOUT
The course is in pretty good shop other than the greens. It was like putting on carpet. Your ball bounce everywhere and not straight. The layout of the course was GREAT, fairways are in great shape.

Nice layout, greens in poor condition
Ww liked the course but wished the greens were in better condition. Apoarently 5 or 6 of the greens had some sort of blight.

Still struggling
Eagle's Pointe has struggled over the last two years. Ownership has simply refused to put any money into course maintenance, leaving the course unkempt and virtually unplayable at times. While the course employees try to do as much as they can to make the course playable, without proper funding they simply cannot keep up maintenence. The greens still have major problem areas, and fairways are irregular. Pace of play can be monstrously slow, depending on which group you are behind, and there are no course marshals to monitor pace of play. The course needs strong leadership and a commitment from ownership to provide necessary funds.

Decent course
The good was the fairways and tee boxes.
The bad was the greens. They were in complete shambles.
Pace of play was good and staff is great. Once the greens are fixed this course will be great.

Not too bad
Eagle’s Point is a fairly challenging course with a couple of long par 4’a. There are several well placed bunkers that come into play and will affect your score if you don’t avoid them. The greens need work. Some are okay but most have some bare spots that need repairs. The staff is very friendly! The cart paths are bumpy and need work.
Overall, not a bad experience.

Cow pasture golf
I would not play here again if they offered a free round to me and three friends. Greens were lacking grass and extremely slow. It was cart paths only and the cart paths were horrible. Blacktop paths with tree roots pushing up everywhere. When I was checking in another guest commented on the yellow range balls and the lady behind the counter told him that if they were white the guests would steal them. I should have left at that point.

I love the course and staff but not the greens today
Eagles Pointe is a nice option within the area. Staff is very friendly and helpful. Unfortunately I should have asked about condition of greens before booking a teetime. They were moderately bad I hate to say..
