The Course at Wente Vineyards

This is a scenic but challenging course. Wind can play a big role here. We mostly played with lot of headwind Had difficult times on couple of greens also.

Frost delay. Packed. Left after 6 holes. Don’t put up tee times online if you’re already scrambling from a frost delay. By 1:30 the place was at a standstill with no rangers on the course. Yocha Dehe is twice the caliber of Wente and always manages their pace of play better. I’ve yet to play a round at Wente without egregious waits on every hole. It’s a shame too, Wente is an awesome course, but the consistently slow pace of play combined with foreign, out of the country hackers everywhere is making me seriously reconsider playing again. It’s a 1.5 hour drive for me to get there and I didn’t make that sort of a trip to twiddle my fingers during a 6 hour round.

Very dissapointed tried to book on line and because of the poor design of the golf now website It booked the wrong day and neither Wentevinyards Or Golf now was willing to work with me to either change the date or credit me on another round of golf. I lost some money for that day but they both lost a customer for life Golf is a gentleman’s game of honor I know courses are struggling to survive maybe this is part of the reason why. Super bummed to scratch you guys from the rotation.

We played Wente in early December which turned out to be a great gamble as it was sunny and surrounded by vines turning orange.

Course layout was great with good challenges. Very hilly and well maintained all around. Tended to be fairly wide in most areas which was helpful as we weren't swinging the clubs particularly straight...

Greens were pretty fast and tended to have lot of movement. We all struggles with the putting but just because we are used to the muni courses.

Highly recommend going! One of the best courses I've played.

This has spectacular views and challenging holes. Loved it.

Like Poppy Ridge, beautiful vistas. Wente is like miniature golf writ large, and includes a cell tower

disguised as a water tower using a big Oak like Wine Barrel - but no windmill holes. The greens are deceptively fast but true. The Lombard trail is an e-ticket ride. All in all, a worthwhile test and venue.

P.S. The snakes are hibernating so I picked up a few near new golf balls found in the brush. This new treasure more than paid for the entry fee. LOL.

Beautiful course, great layout. Greens were in great condition and putting very true. Fairways were a bit wet, but overall the course was in great shape. The only problem was the wind. We got a windy day----really windy. Played the Gold tees. #18 into the wind was driver, 3 hybrid and knock-down wedge. #14, par three, 185 yards to the pin was a knock-down driver. #12 not reachable in 3. Crazy windy!! On a normal day this is a great course to play. It's a bit challenging when the wind is howling.

Pick anytime of the year and Wente delivers! Best course to play in the area, even better on a "Hot Deal"!

Keep this course on the rotation..

Beautiful. Challenging, but fair. Greens were FAST. Only complaint is a few areas the fairway was soggy. Otherwise, my favorite course in the East bay.

Played many courses throughout the Bay area..I consider this as one of the best!

Can't wait to play again! Try to stay out of the bunkers and off the hills and vineyards,

and you will be fine, something I had trouble with as usual. ha, ha

Course was in pretty good condition. Only area that needs some tending would be the approach to various tee boxes. Some weeds and abit unkept. The fairways and greens, though were very nicely maintained and in good condition.

Scenery is great to be able to enjoy golf without houses around and just the pristine vineyards with the grapes on the vines.

Would definitely recommend playing here for a unique experience.

Great course. Always in great shape. Fast greens normally. Was told upon check in that the greens were recently top dressed

But they still rolled smooth. Because of the top dressing I was given 4 tickets for a $75.00 each future green fee for all of us. Good until March 2018. I thought that was awesome of Wente to even offer that

We scored a "hot deal" for this course and were astounded at our good fortune. What a spectacular course - beautiful, challenging, friendly.

Fairways were perfect and greens fast(pretty flat with hardly any elevation changes) and thank god they have sand in the sandtraps.This truly is an amzing place to golf with wonderful views,great clubhouse for food and drinks and super experience,but understand it still carries a Monterey pricetag.They have marshalls monitoring the progress so pace of play stays on time and a cart girl that does her best to make her way around this spread out course..

If price is not an issue this course is a must play though.

Played there in a Tournament and the Course was in great shape. Greens rolled at 10. The Clubhouse and Restaurant were great. The only thing is the Marshall on was into himself. we finished playing in 4:30 minutes and still got hassled from a elderly Marshall who should be in a rest home. All we heard from him is that he 83 and we should play every hole in 15 minutes. These type of Marshall's need to go to school and learn Customer Service especially when the Course charges a arm and leg to play. We were coming down 17 hole and one of my players were getting ready to hit and this Marshall comes from behind the green and makes a bee line down the fairway towards one of my golfers and we all thought "what the Heck" We had to wait for him. Didn't say a Darn word and kept going. . It was 101 degrees and we certainly didn't need a Fit-bit Marshall to harass us. Shame on you Wente for hiring this guy. We won't return to play anytime soon and neither will any of my 26 golfers in our Club.

It had been about a year since we last played the course and we were very impressed at how lush the fairways were. The tees were in great shape and the greens didn't disappoint as they were rolling fast and true. the staff was great and I highly recommend playing here if you haven't yet. You will not be disappointed
