About
Bear Creek Golf Club is one of the courses that makes Hilton Head Island one of the country's most popular golf destinations. Rees Jones designed the course, routing the layout through majestic pines and sparkling blue lagoons. Jones kept much of the existing landscape intact, earning the golf course Audubon certification. There are five sets of tees total, with the longest stretching over 6,800 yards. It's a course that players of all skill levels can enjoy regardless of handicap. The tight, bunkered fairways are an infamous feature of the course but Bear Creek is also known for having some of the best greens on Hilton Head Island. The finishing hole is the course's signature. You'll have to navigate your way past a narrow chute of pines to reach the green, which is fronted by a large lagoon.

Ranked third in this plantation.
Oyster reef and dolphin head are in much better shape. This course used to be much better.

Pretty course, nice layout, pretty tight, challenging!
This course does not worth the price we paid.
This course need a lot of love. Lot of pine-cones in the long grass and more over the grass was missing in the fairway also in the grass long.

It is a beautiful course because of the natural area. Scenery is beautiful and the homes along the course were tucked away and not intrusive. Lots of birds, alligators and nature. Very peaceful. Greens and fairways were in very good condition. We played early and may have been first out and while we played in just over four hours, we were hurried at the end because they needed our carts. GREAT lunch and friendly service. Would play again when visiting HHI.
Staff were surly or non existent
Although we teed off mid afternoon, there was no chance to get water or any type of food or drink after 9 or eighteen. The only saving grace was that after taking almost 3 hours to finish the front nine, we flew around the back in 1:15, because we were alone out there.
Not for beginners!
Very nice course. Electric karts are very old. Need a marshall on the course. Pace of play was very slow. Very nice course layout.
Decent course and layout
Nice course, very playable. Greens nice condition, but all greens are relatively flat. Probably ran about 9-10 on the stimpmeter, but rolled true.
Worth playing
Good greens and pace of play. Somewhat challenging and fair layout.
Nice Course
Front 9 fairways seemed a bit tired and several greens were suffering from a fungus. Back 9 was in very good condition both fairways and greens. Good layout with lots of challenging shots to be made. We enjoyed our round and look forward to playing it again.
