About
Bear Creek Golf Club is one of the courses that makes Hilton Head Island one of the country's most popular golf destinations. Rees Jones designed the course, routing the layout through majestic pines and sparkling blue lagoons. Jones kept much of the existing landscape intact, earning the golf course Audubon certification. There are five sets of tees total, with the longest stretching over 6,800 yards. It's a course that players of all skill levels can enjoy regardless of handicap. The tight, bunkered fairways are an infamous feature of the course but Bear Creek is also known for having some of the best greens on Hilton Head Island. The finishing hole is the course's signature. You'll have to navigate your way past a narrow chute of pines to reach the green, which is fronted by a large lagoon.

Would not go back
Course in very poor shape. Tee blocks and greens were very rough and need work. Club house dirty, washrooms dirty and no soap.
Course had no starter so being very busy it was chaos to start. A person who worked at the course cut in front of two groups as he was 15-20 min late for his own tee time. I was scheduled to play again but cancelled.
Bear Creek not worth money
Course tee blocks were in bad shape. Greens were rough and sparse. Cart paths were mix of ash-fault and dirt. Played with two nice gentlemen who had played before and they said the poor course conditions were typical
Great value
This course is a great value for the price. The staff are courteous and helpful. The course is on good condition, but then, I'm not a great golfer so I'm easy to please.
Great Value
Golf course was in good condition for this time of year. The layout is nice and there are plenty of tee blocks to choose from depending on your length and ability level. The staff was very helpful and the man in the food and beverage section was a delight!!! We will most certainly play here again!

Sand traps were well placed. The course layout was well designed for the area. Reasonably priced.
Where's the GPS?
Great day for golf. The course was in pretty good shape and the weather was perfect. As a first timer at Bear Creek, it would have been nice to have in cart GPS to help navigate the course. The staff was friendly and helpful. I would recommend this course to my friends.
