About
Bear Creek Golf Club is one of the courses that makes Hilton Head Island one of the country's most popular golf destinations. Rees Jones designed the course, routing the layout through majestic pines and sparkling blue lagoons. Jones kept much of the existing landscape intact, earning the golf course Audubon certification. There are five sets of tees total, with the longest stretching over 6,800 yards. It's a course that players of all skill levels can enjoy regardless of handicap. The tight, bunkered fairways are an infamous feature of the course but Bear Creek is also known for having some of the best greens on Hilton Head Island. The finishing hole is the course's signature. You'll have to navigate your way past a narrow chute of pines to reach the green, which is fronted by a large lagoon.

Nothing special
Older club with minimal “club” elevated atmosphere. Range was torn up. Tee boxes need repair. The greens were surprisingly good and well maintained.
Carts don’t have GPS and never saw a beverage cart or a ranger. The only memorable hole was 18. Too many good courses in HHI to ever play this track again.
Average golfer
I enjoyed this course. Had wide fairways off the tee which is nice if you aren’t straight all the time. Greens had some other grasses in the greens but it didn’t affect your putts. The greens were a good speed and rolled true.
Pace of play was great staff very inviting and course was in very good shape. We will play again next time we are in town.
Disappointing Experience
Play was extremely slow, groups teeing up on front were packed up- ranger not around to move along pace of play. Tee box conditions were terrible on many holes and greens poor condition.

Great find!
Have played this course 3 times so far this week. Excellent value and enjoyable course. Free practice range is also a plus. Definitely check it out if you're playing on HHI.
Okay Course
Nice course, but greens and fairways needed some work.
Just ok
Tee boxes for early April was a mess. That was a disappointment for the $.probably better course options on the island.
Way too many doglegs. Probably because of the amount of acreage available in Hilton Head.
After a big wind and rain storm
They had a ton of tree debris down. Trying hard to clean up, but it was a rough few holes.

We have played Bear Creek before, it was in ok condition, but definitely not a 90.00 course!

Liked the layout of the course with various doglegs (left and Right). Tall pine trees. And greens in good shape
