About
Bear Creek Golf Club is one of the courses that makes Hilton Head Island one of the country's most popular golf destinations. Rees Jones designed the course, routing the layout through majestic pines and sparkling blue lagoons. Jones kept much of the existing landscape intact, earning the golf course Audubon certification. There are five sets of tees total, with the longest stretching over 6,800 yards. It's a course that players of all skill levels can enjoy regardless of handicap. The tight, bunkered fairways are an infamous feature of the course but Bear Creek is also known for having some of the best greens on Hilton Head Island. The finishing hole is the course's signature. You'll have to navigate your way past a narrow chute of pines to reach the green, which is fronted by a large lagoon.

Course in good condition but slow play
We were happy with the condition of the course. It was nice and green and fun to play the layout.
The starter allowed a twosome in front of us on the back nine which could have been paired with 2 guys in from of them.
Ultimately it took over 5 hours to play our round. Very disappointing not to see a marshall on the course to control the speed of play.
Nice place to play on HHI!
We enjoyed playing Bear Creek! Challenging and well kept! We will definitely play it again!
Good bang for the buck
The course was in pretty good shape for this time of year. Pace of the greens were medium/fast no fungus noticeable. Layout of the course was good. No rakes in fairways bunkers wasn't great, very little green grass is any, but expected for February.

Great course. Greens were really good. But note don’t think abt getting away w too many sprays off tee. Did like how ball ran out in fairway.

Altogether a nice course. Greens a little slow, but smooth. No blemishes.
Fun and Fast
Starter was great and started us on hole 2 ahead of a foursome so we finished in 2.5 hours. Course track is fun and fair- conditions a little tired but greens were good. Great value for the money. Guy in pro shop was a bit unwelcoming but professional.
Beautiful Course
First time playing Bear Creek and thoroughly enjoyed my round. Course was in great condition and greens rolled true. Definitely plan on playing again soon.
Nice Course
This is a nice course. It isn't too challenging, which was good since we played with my grandson and don-in-law who do not play much.
The course was in good condition.
Rainy fay
Played during one of Hilton Heads afternoon showers. Rain persisted from hole 3-7.
We persevered and made the most of it since it was our last day on the island.
Check-in staff, course pro and starter Carl were excellent.
Will play again some day.
Fun Course
I and five family members enjoyed playing this course during our summer vacation to Hilton head. It is “fairer” than some of the other more well-known courses on the island. Not as much trouble, although there is a little bit of a target aspect to it in that some of the bigger hitters in our foursome, had to leave the driver in the bag on some holes. If you can hit a “power fade” you can score well here.
