About
Bear Creek Golf Club is one of the courses that makes Hilton Head Island one of the country's most popular golf destinations. Rees Jones designed the course, routing the layout through majestic pines and sparkling blue lagoons. Jones kept much of the existing landscape intact, earning the golf course Audubon certification. There are five sets of tees total, with the longest stretching over 6,800 yards. It's a course that players of all skill levels can enjoy regardless of handicap. The tight, bunkered fairways are an infamous feature of the course but Bear Creek is also known for having some of the best greens on Hilton Head Island. The finishing hole is the course's signature. You'll have to navigate your way past a narrow chute of pines to reach the green, which is fronted by a large lagoon.

Greens run great
Much better than the expensive Robert Trent Jones Course
Plus that course allowed walkers - that slow down the game for everyone
We liked Bear so much we played it a 2 nd time
Very Nice Course
We thoroughly enjoyed our round at Bear Creek. Course was in great condition. The only criticism was that there was a group of 5 playing together which significantly slowed down play on the back 9. There were no Marshalls on the course to deal with this.

Course is in great shape
We had a lovely day. The course is in great shape, greens were smooth and at a fair pace. Pace of play was wonderful, under 4 hours.
Bear creek
We enjoyed the course but we’re disappointed that we couldn’t use the meal voucher due to the restaurant hours. It would have been helpful to know the restaurant’s hours prior to booking our tee time.
Great value
When everything else on HH Plantation is $160+ this for $80 was great. Course was in nice shape. Not sure why we never played here before. Bunkers not great. But had a good time and pace was right on four hours with a 740 tee time. Give it a shot.

A beautiful afternoon on Hilton Head! Pace was good, greens in good shape. Good value for the money.
Great course. Good value. Pro shop was great.
The only issue we had was with the person who got the cart for us (Mike?). He wasn’t very friendly to us or others. Perhaps he wasn’t having a good afternoon.
