Dobson Ranch Golf Course

Only thing i don’t like about the course is the 3 holes next to the driving range, hard to find your ball with a bunch of range balls on the course. Other than that its a nice course. Plenty of shaded spots too for summer play.

As the title states both the greens and the tee boxes were in good condition. However, the condition of the majority of the fairways was absolutely horrible. A lot of it was dirt or mud and what was grass was actually more of a crab grass. Hard to get a good lie.

Dobson Ranch Golf Course is one of the true gems of the East Valley. From the moment you pull into the parking lot, the atmosphere is relaxed, welcoming, and geared toward golfers of all skill levels. The staff is consistently friendly, attentive, and makes you feel like a regular—even if it’s your first time.

The course itself is well-maintained, with lush fairways and greens that roll true. It’s challenging enough to keep seasoned players sharp but still approachable for beginners. The layout offers a nice mix of open holes and tree-lined fairways, with enough variety to keep things interesting throughout the round.

One of Dobson Ranch’s standout features is its practice facility. The driving range has Toptracer technology, which adds a fun, interactive layer to practice sessions or casual hangouts with friends. The putting and chipping greens are also in great condition, making it a great place to work on your short game.

The clubhouse and patio areas are perfect for grabbing a bite or a drink after the round. The vibe is laid-back, the food is solid, and the prices are fair. Plus, the location in Mesa makes it easy to get to from anywhere in the Phoenix area.

Whether you’re looking for a casual round, a practice session, or a social golf outing, Dobson Ranch delivers. It’s one of those courses you find yourself coming back to regularly because it checks all the boxes: friendly people, great value, and a course that’s just plain fun to play.

It is always great to play at Dobson! Chill atmosphere and great golf amenities. It was a cloudy day and everyone was out enjoying the course so no fault in that. They keep this course in the best shape they can with the Arizona summer. Love it there!

Espacially, good green condition.

First time playing here & loved it! Course is in great shape, very beautiful!

This course was, and has the future potential to be a great muni, but the current conditions really hold it back. Large patches of crabgrass and bare spots make many fairways and rough areas feel purposefully neglected. Several bunkers are basically just hard-packed dirt.. barely any sand to speak of. The overall lack of care in turf maintenance takes away from the experience. With a change in leadership and some investment in the course upkeep instead of the amenities, this could be a much more enjoyable round. It seems like every time they upgrade the driving range, the course gets neglected more.

Course in good condition. Starter and marshalls excellent. Restaurant staff helpfull. Pro shop staff on this day seemed like he wanted to be anywhere but golf course. Never smiled. Other than that fun day.

I normally try to be fair in my reviews, I always try to stay objective. I was not able to hit balls because the driving range was closed. The fairways are lacking turf, so it’s like hitting off a cow pasture. The bunkers were hard compacted dirt. There was no real way to play an actual sand shot. My playing partners skulled multiple ball out of the bunkers. Normally I have a good time playing this course but it was a rough day. I shot 77 from the tips that should have been close to an even par day. The course needs a lot of work.

Instead of spending money on driving range and adding chairs and ping pong tables and other games spend some money on grass seed and sprinkle it on the fairways. Hitting off dirt 99 % of time on fairways unless you find a weed growing out there and move ball into that area . Tee boxes and greens are in good shape and so are the bunkers with soft sand . Disappointed in the condition of the fairways . I know it is summer but other courses in the area such as Bear Creek have grass on their fairways

As is the case for most golf courses in Arizona right now, last year's overseed did not go well. The fairways were spotty at best with a lot of exposed dirt. The tee boxes were OK, but could be improved. The greens were a little slow, but seemed to roll true. The pace of play wes good (3 hours 15 minutes for a foursome teeing off on two different tees). The club house/restaurant was good. I would play it again.
