Dobson Ranch Golf Course

Best part about this experience: the driving range.

Full stop from there.. No clear signage or employee to point you to carts, 1st tee box, or starter between the carts and found t box. We teed off around our t time with no one on the starting hole but us.

The marshal.then approached us asking why we didn't check in before teeing off. As I mentioned there was no one to be found. Not a very friendly experience.

Then we had a 2nd Marshal ask.us when we started about 2 holes later as we didn't get recorded with the starter who we talked to 2 holes back.

Just weird all the way around.....

If you want an outdoor fun time-their driving range is top notch. And it shows where they put their money-because it is not in the golf course.

The fairways were patchy and barren in parts. The greens were in moderate condition. This used to be top tier golf course, but now it is just a top notch Driving Range.

My biggest complaint about the course is there were no yardage markers except maybe 1 or 2 of the holes. Otherwise course conditions were average this time of year. Not great.

Most greens were in above average condition to a rolled fast. The Dobson key is to avoid going above any hole or three put will be the result! Lot of barren dirt areas in many fairways. Perhaps grass is transitioning? The layout continues to be fun over the many years I have played it.

Dobson is a great layout with lots of trees lining the fairways. Greens are difficult with undulation. I know it is summer but the fairways were very spotty. Good value still!

Course personnel were friendly and took care of our needs. The course itself was poor. Fairways had little if any grass, sand traps need more sand. I have played this course pretty much since it opened and this was the worst condition I have encountered in those many years. They need to put more effort into the course and less onto the driving range.

Course conditions were disappointing. The fairway grass was cut very short and many areas was simple dirt. Greens were hard and uneven (dimples and divots) .

The range , the staff, the cart girls and the clubhouse were all excellent.

The greens are in decent condition but the fairways are bare on the back 9. The front was ok but there’s mud and standing water along all the cart paths.

Course director was rude, impatient. Surprise fees when booking a tee time are not written anywhere. Would not come back just for that. Course poor quality, dirt patches everywhere.

Course is in great condition. So much bang for your buck. Staff is always super friendly and helpful. Pace of play is great right now. Amenities can’t be beat.

Overall a good time was had by all!! Just hated that I piped a perfect drive down the fairway and was in a bunch of dirt! Staff was great! Driving range was on a different level than I have seen! Linda the starter was sweet!

I have their ranch card. I’ve had it for over 3 years. The course is charging $21 for a large bucket of balls without the bay charge. Absolutely ridiculous when I can go down the street to SEVERAL other courses and get the same amount of balls for half the price. This is becoming disgraceful.

I have player Dobson Ranch since 1979, and most recently f the time it is in good shape, but this time I was really disappointed in the course conditions. It had many burnt it areas and the greens had some spots that had bad areas. Too many bad areas that were hard pan with little grass. Hope that the conditions improve.

Phoenix golf courses are going through the "transition" from winter rye to summer bermuda grass. A lot of the fairways are bare in some places. The tee boxes showed their wear. The greens were OK.

There were many dry spots with seeding ongoing. This made driving to the fairway a challenge - hoping your ball landed in grass. The greens were well manicured and course-stewards were very attentive.
