Dobson Ranch Golf Course

Course in great shape and always a pleasure to play. Weather was cool, but it is Arizona, who could complain!

Wish they would spend some money on the actual course to improve playing surfaces(traps, fairways, rough, and greens. Course was muddy. Mud ball on every shot. Spending lots of money on the driving range. Spread the money around. Fortunately I had a Hot Deal, their price for non-residents(and I live in Arizona but not Mesa or Maricopa County)is $24 higher. That's ridiculous!

The course is in great shape, It’s hard to describe how fun the vibe is at DR. Lots of people there but it never feels crowded. And every single person I talked to was pleasant, in a good mood, super helpful, & very friendly! I will be there often!

Booked a time a week out and got a notice the day before that my time had been cancelled (and I did not cancel it) but I was still responsible for the green fees. So I called right away and fortunately was able to get it reinstated.

Next up the grouchy marshall hassles us on #7 for slow play when we are at a 2 hour pace for the front and nobody is behind us.

Then to top it off, we waited 15 minutes at the restaurant but the snooty waitress couldn't be bothered to come out from behind the bar to say hi and take our order.

I guess when you're as busy as DR is you can treat your customers like this, but it's a shame because it is a fun course.

DRGC was very busy (12/26), likely due to those not working between the holidays. Tees were mainly level, but needed to be reset as much of the surface was damaged by play. Fairways were in OK shape, though the grass was not sufficiently thick to elevate the ball. Surface was wet, requiring regular cleaning of the ball. Rough was dormant grass or dirt. Greens were well paced, though all players need to repair their ball marks. Sand traps were good (I was only in one). Pace of play was fair for the front 9; however, that paced disappeared on the back 9, resulting in a 4.5+ hour round, just before total darkness set-in (start was at 12:55). Value was good with a TeeOff deal.

Dobson is always a good play. I get about 2 rounds a month here. My main gripe is that the gentleman at the pro shop wouldn’t apply my golf gift card. He said, “yes we accept those but I’m not sure how to do it.” Kind of frustrating that there was no one to ask. What if all I had budgeted out for this round included the gift card? Definitely a poor move on the staff’s part.

Was 8 years since playing Dobson ranch, hole one TBox a slice can hit groups coming up hole nine. Hole nine could get hit by driving range balls,no highscreen on either side. Hole 10 at T box and downfair way,range balls all over fairway,no high screens ,very dangerous up nine,down hole 10. Beside that fairlychallenging. Greens 7 out of ten. $75 is enough for this course. But very good staff today,older lady starter ,very friendly & professional.. Be a while before coming back.

Welcome could not have been friendlier. Practice area wonderful except for having to hit from mat.

Layout very good to match the conditions on the course.

Hole number 10 is right next to the driving range . There is no net . Trying to find your ball on the fairway with 100 range balls everywhere makes the hole pretty pointless to play

Cloudy and a little rain. The course was in good condition.

From Mark, who picks up our bags to Jeremy, who checks us in and the Ranger, who keeps us moving, playing Dobson Ranch is always a pleasure. Plus, we have a group of 24 and we actually are made to feel that our business is important to them. Out of all the courses we play in the valley, Dobson Ranch ranks way up on top as far as good places to play and friendly staff. Thanks guys.

I booked a tee time for a good price starting at 2:09. It did not tee off until 2:40 and I was not able to finish the expected 17 to 18 holes. There is no frost delay and I do not understand why they would get so behind. I did not see a single Marshall on the course. I am retired and looking for a golf Marshalls job if you so were hiring.
