Golfer Reviews
Improved but bad bunkers
Dobson Ranch has made a lot of changes and the best is with pace of play. In the past a round was close to 5 hours but our recent round was 4 hours and 5 minutes ! The fairways were in great shape. The greens were fast and a real challenge. Holes 9 and 10 had a lot of range balls switch to a non white ball for these holes. The bunkers are horrible ! They are solid dirt with a half an inch of loose dirt on top. You couldn’t do any normal bunker shots. Two of us had a ball go into a green side bunker and the ball bounced out onto the green
Ranch life
Course is good…long enough, well cards for and greens that are challenging.
Driving range is impressive. Has grown to be almost its own entity. Dobson: your ratefor balls is re-dick-u-lous.
Best thing about the ranch: their staff - like Grace- create a fun and welcoming atmosphere.
9th and 10th holes
The course was nice except for the 9th and 10th holes. There were so many range balls on the fairways that 3 of our foursome lost a ball. On the 10th tee we were sitting by the white tee box when a ball from the range narrowly missed hitting us in our cart. Those two holes are really dangerous. It seems like there could be something done to help the situation! I will probably not play there again because of that.
Great experience
All around great staff from the pro shop to the starter and the restaurant staff
Only complain is the pace of play especially late afternoon. Ranger should be doing
Better job to prevent long waiting times on
The box slow player should be told to pick up and skip a hole or 2
Venerable course still a great value
In this age of stupid expensive Phoenix area golf courses, a few are still bargains. Dobson Ranch has Some of the most interesting green complexes in the valley and, other than the typical issue of golfers not fixing ball marks, they ran true and fast. Pace of play was a slight for a few holes, but sped up. Played in 4hrs 15 minutes. Not bad for a busy muni. One of the best values in Phoenix
AGAIN ! This place does not disappoint
Attention to detail is all I can say. This was our 2nd time their in a weeks time. Going again next week. Every staff member we have meet has been awesome. I play a lot of golf in Wisconsin and don't get near the Attention we've got here.. shout out to Mark. Great job my friend.
Slow play
We finally quit after playing 15 holes due to having to wait on every shot. People who normally
play early generally play fast. Need to set under 4 hour pace.
What a community course should look like
Dobson Ranch is all about fun, and if the game of golf wants to grow, this course should be the model. I saw more young people at this course than anywhere else I have ever been. But the relaxed environment does not translate into sloppy conditions. The layout is ordinary, but well-kept. The pace was good and staff were friendly, efficient and disciplined. The course is a very good deal for the price. The only down-side was difficulty in getting a tee-time. The place is popular, which makes tee times a competitive endeavor.
Nice atmosphere but slow pace
Liked the course but pace was slow and lots of balls on the fairways from the driving range and always seems to have people crossing fairways to play balls…if your good with that it’s a nice course🤔
