Great vibe
Our group of 4 with 2 carts felt this was a really fun relaxing time out on your beautiful course. Unfortunately 3/4 way thru the “ranger” stopped to insinuate to us that we were holding up play - this was definitely not the case because there was a group of 4 walkers behind us (that were never waiting for us) and it was obvious to everyone that they were the slower issue. With the ranger telling us to speed up, it turned our pleasant outing into a stressful one especially to our women golfers who immediately decided to skip holes even though we still did not have the foursome on our tails.
Dobson Ranch is always fun
Played this course a half dozen times. The fairways are green and the greens are rolling. The staff have made this course a fun place to play. I will be returning.
Everything you would expect and more
Forgiving fairways, just The right amount of water. Tricky greens, ample sand in bunkers. Bluetooth stereo in carts. Awesome driving range etc
Great track!
We are four guys who have traveled from out of state to Phoenix for many years to play four courses in four days. This was our day four and a great find. The course layout allows it to play fast. We were able to tee off 15 minutes early and finished the round in 4 hours and 10 minutes. The course could use a little work around the tee boxes.
It also has a lot of birds that may be creating issues and could use some mitigation. The sand bunkers were in excellent condition and we found them quite often. Greens were not crazy fast and rolled at a moderate pace which we enjoyed. Overall, a great value course in the Phoenix area.
Pretty good value
Course in ok shape. Greens are nice. Friendly place. Decent price
Rise and shine
First time playing this early and it was a great time!
Very Nice Enjoyable Course
Very well maintained. Fairways were in great shape, greens were well maintained. Enjoyed a great round of golf.
Best place in the valley
Best place in the valley if you’re looking for a place to call home. Very inviting makes you feel welcomed.
Maverick, Jeremy and Taylor great people.
Mark is awesome on the range as well very helpful
Starter holds up groups. What happened to ready golf?
Very much did not like starter holding us up until our exact tee time. 2 of the players in our foursome are not very good (110-130 for 18). The shorter-distance hitters were ready to tee off before our official time, with adequate distance behind the group in front, but were told that groups are let off only every 9 minutes. This delay contributed to a good 3-some behind us catching us on about hole 7 and being asked by the ranger on hole 11 to speed up our play because we were more than 15 minutes behind the group in front. Playing rushed is never enjoyable for me. I will not play Dobson again
Value Golf
Congrats to Dobson Branch being the only course in the Greater Phoenix area not completely ripping off golfers in the weeks either side of the WM Pheonix Open. Literally the only course with any rate below $100 - the twilight rate was discounted slightly with some golf pass points to get me below $80. For that I got a course in decent condition that is challenging enough for mid handicap golfers whilst affording leniency for the high handicappers.
Some challenging greens with wicked slopes/pin placements.
Yes there are much nicer courses in the area but would play again for the value for money.
Decent course, slow pace
A decent municipal course with a very casual atmosphere. Downside is tee times get way oversold, so start times are delayed, and there are backups on several holes. Given that, they are overcharging per round. If you tee off in mid afternoon, you may not finish. There are no nets around the driving range, so fairways on 9&10 are littered with rangeballs (100s of them) making it difficult, and a little nerve racking, to find your own ball, even with a decent fairway hit. The camera / tracking system on the range is state of the art, and very popular. There can be a crowd, especially when tee times are behind.
