San Marcos Golf Resort
About
The golf course at the San Marcos Golf Resort boasts an impressive list of past players that includes presidents and celebrities. The golf course is nestled on a property in downtown Chandler that is listed on the National Register of Historic Places. Although it has a desert landscape, the course is still lush with a canal that runs through it, a lake, and plush Bermuda grass greens, the former two creating water hazards that come into play on several holes. The San Marcos Golf Resort course is challenging with each hole having at least three bunkers. The two most difficult holes on the golf course are two lengthy par 4s, the fourth and the 10th.

Morning view down the Par-5 5th fairway. A strong drive, especially to the center-right fairway, sets you up to go for the green in two! Photo submitted by vmustang on 04/25/2021

Very Nice
I had a great time at this course. Nice wide, lush fairways. It was nice to play a course that had actual rough. Greens were nice.
I told the gentleman in the clubhouse it was my first time playing here. He took the time to explain to me the different pin colors and advised where to and not to hit my ball according to the pin placement. This made a huge difference in my approach shots.
I would probably play here weekly if it were closer to my home.
Old time favorite, won't be back any time soon!
Bag crew was the best part of the whole round, they were friendly and on their A game. I prepaid for foursome, went and checked in and then heard on the starters radio 15 minutes later has he seen or heard from our fousome??? Slow round, 2 groups on every tee all day. The absolute worst part was that it's Saturday, they had one beverage cart which we didn't see until hole 9 and then it turns out she's uninterested in her job, rude and has no personality at all. (She's from Fenton, MI fyi San Marcos management) The coiurse also includes a halfway house to get drinks and it was closed as well. This all on a Saturday when the course is packed. The GM should be scolded for not taking advantage at bringing the course some major profit from food and beverages. There are just to many other good courses with great customer service that we will be playing before returning here, that's too bad!
Course in good shape
Excellent course for the money . Best shape of all the courses I’ve played in the area.
4-11
Great course to play!!
GPS brought me to a gated closed entrance.
Very little distance help nor distance information on winding creek.
Worth a visit
Course in good shape, good value, suggest early tee off times
Visiting from NY
Absolutely beautiful day to play golf, The young man loading the clubs in the cart was extremely friendly and Steve and the clubhouse was just phenomenal. He hooked me up with some equipment that I was short of and also found out that he lived about an hour and a half from me many many years ago. The course and these two guys are the reason that we will definitely be back, it will be happy to recommend it to many others. Hope to see you all again soon!
Does anyone fix ball marks anymore at this joint?
We had a tee time at 228 and wish we didn't. The pace of play was horrid. People teaching others, folks playing from black when it should be white. Range drive by with his head down. Cart lady gets struck by ball. 7 to 8 min wait per hole. Greens so many fresh ball marks as if nobody know how to fix the. Putting was like going off-roading. Just a complete frustration. Maybe summer at 115 instead of 95 will be better. I hope so.
A very nice course
To begin, the staff is very friendly and helpful. The course is in very nice condition compared to similar and even more expensive plays. The place was a bit slow but we still finished in well under 4 hours, actually about 3 1/2 hours. I will definitely play again and would recommend also.
Solid course condition
Greens a bit slow but definitely a go to when on a budget
