Stripe Show Golf Club
About
The golf course at Stripe Show Golf Club (previously known as Freedom Golf Course) is a walker-friendly and affordable venue for juniors, beginners and experienced golfers in search of a pleasant round. The executive length course has a risk-and-reward layout for an interesting game. This course may be short but there are several challenging elements. Situated on a terrain of rolling hills, golfers can expect uneven lies and elevation changes adding some interesting elements to the course. Water hazards come into play on several holes and there are strategically placed sand bunkers present on the course as well. Stripe Show Golf Club is well maintained with plenty of nice, shady areas.

Irons practice
Course has seen better days but the new ownership is hard at work with renovations. In any case, the course provides an economical choice to work o n the short game.
No pressure course amazing for irons
This course is amazing and will be so nice very soon. It's a short executive with some fairly challenging holes given its such a small course. It was left to rot for a few years but it's getting a new life and I think it's awesome! Perfect for beginners or anyone who wants to hone their iron game. No holes I could safely hit my driver but so good for planning your route to the hole. The guys that run it are great and its definitely veteran friendly. I highly recommend as long as you're not a snob and understand its a work in progress you'll love it. Plan on playing weekly with my son who's learning.
November golf
This course is a terrific course to work on your irons. The course is in good shape. The greens are deceptively quick.
Fun short course.
November g
The course is getting better. The greens are much better than two weeks ago.
My round
This is a good little course. Being it was a dirt lot 10 months ago it is coming around. Some of the older tree tops need to be trimmed. The trees are blocking to much of the fairways, to the point of making some holes unplayable.
No one is pretending this is a nice course
This course is a “work in progress.” It is not too challenging but a couple of holes are tricky. No one pretends that the course is in good shape, and even the golf shop attendant said as much when we checked in. Nonetheless you can get some golf in. I think that it is not a great value compared to twilight rates elsewhere, but if you are looking for 90 minutes of fun in the morning it is acceptable. I might be back but not more than once or twice.
Hidden gem
We loved playing this course so much we played it twice. The new owners are bringing this course back to life. The setting is beautiful with lots of shade and a pretty lake. We’ll definitely be back.
Overall Course
The course is just coming back. It was a dust bowl for years. There were a few bad spots on the greens still. Over all it was a fun course to play. Give it another 8-10 months and it should be in good shape.
Fun for 10 bucks
My girlfriend and I golfed here for the first time. We showed up and it’s basically like a giant closed off park with 9 holes and a range.
We were practically the only ones on the course, and it was very casual which was great since this was only her 2nd time golfing.
The conditions of the greens were the worst I’ve seen. Lots of dirt patches and the fairway was thin and patchy. Kinda muddy. There were tons of trees with plenty of shade which was nice though.
It’s a great low pressure environment for beginners or anyone who is looking to get a quick 9 in for a cheap rate.
Overall I had fun and I will probably come back if I can consistently find a deal for that same price.
Love this Place!
Awesome staff and a great quick cheap round. They are really bringing it back to life! Will be back forever
Stripe Show is AWESOME!
This was my first round at Stripe Show and I took my 8 year old son and a buddy with his 8 year old and we had a great round. Course is still under way of becoming something very special to Mesa I feel and the staff was awesome, very welcoming and very eager to help. For a quick 9 it is a blast and I would recommend it to anyone, it’s my type of course, laid back and smooth playing.
Disc golf
Disc golf is still advertised on the site yet the course has been closed since 2019. Payed the 2.50 online fee for booking then realized the next morning the course isn't available anymore.
Fun little course
Stripe Show has a lot of potential to be a good executive course. There are a ton of large shade trees, which is really nice in the Phoenix area. After talking to the new owners they said the course was abandoned for 2 years until they took it over in November of 2019. You can imagine what happens to a course that has no maintenance for 2 years, it turns into a wasteland. It's obvious they have been putting a lot of work into this little course. There are still some greens that are bare and need more time for the grass to grow in, but you can see that the grass on the fairways and greens are growing in and getting playable. The layout of this course is really nice, lots of trees, water, hills and undulations. As long as they keep the green fees affordable I can see them making this course work and getting a lot of play. I wish them luck, it's a fun little track.
Gonna be a gem soon
These guys have transformed this place. Driving range, practice area and challenging layout with plenty of water to navigate!
Short non-description par 3 course
The good: Course is a good place to practice short iron shots. Lots of trees. Easy walk
The not so good: course condition is poor. Tees and “fairways” (remember its a par 3) are basically not maintained. Greens aren’t too bad, but are slow. I was disappointed overall. To me it looks like they are sitting on the land waiting for the right price to sell, and in the meantime they have a very short (1500yards from the back tees) par 3 course.
I go in some good short iron practice and had a nice walk.
Much Improved
The Stripe Show team has upped the course quality from the previous management teams (Patriot & Freedom). When other courses' rates go up, this has always been a value alternative. But it no longer has that "cheap" course feel.
For a par 29 course, this property has a great layout (hills, lake & mature trees). Major improvements have been made on the greens as well as the driving range and practice areas.
Disc golf no longer mixes with the regular golf. So the round is even more relaxing and enjoyable. And it is still casual enough that non-golfers can enjoy learning the game here.
Incredible owners
Once we checked in the two guys who owned the place explained the course in detail. They were supper nice and apologized for the courses condition at this time and what there plan was to upgrade to course. Because these young guys where so cool and the course had a good layout for us to just have fun my wife and I will become regulars now.
Amazing Potential
My fiancé and I played Stripe Show this weekend and we absolutely loved it. We found out that the course was abandon for quite a few years, and now two young entrepreneurs are trying to bring it back to life! The greens are in rough shape right now, but the fairways are pretty good! They are doing a tremendous job bringing it back to life. The first 4 holes are pretty simple, but the back 5 play around the water and offer a fun challenge.
We met the owners while we were there, and they are super friendly. They have some great ideas and I know they will succeed in their adventure. I’m looking forward to playing again, and would love to see them adapt night golf with glow in the dark balls. I think it would be the perfect course for that!
Please go out and help support Stripe Show during the initial start up months so that we can have a long term course to enjoy for years to come. Thanks again guys! Shaun
