Stripe Show Golf Club
About
The golf course at Stripe Show Golf Club (previously known as Freedom Golf Course) is a walker-friendly and affordable venue for juniors, beginners and experienced golfers in search of a pleasant round. The executive length course has a risk-and-reward layout for an interesting game. This course may be short but there are several challenging elements. Situated on a terrain of rolling hills, golfers can expect uneven lies and elevation changes adding some interesting elements to the course. Water hazards come into play on several holes and there are strategically placed sand bunkers present on the course as well. Stripe Show Golf Club is well maintained with plenty of nice, shady areas.

Quick Hits
Nice place to play instead of just hitting the range. Tee boxes need some help. Greens are nice. Love the trees. Good pace played in about 1 1/2.
Dumpy
This place is golf on a serious budget. The folks were very nice but the course is pretty dumpy.
You get what you pay for
This course is just old and worn out. From tee box (if you can find it) to green and everything in between is like hitting from the rough. The one pond is runoff from a drainage culvert and it is pretty nasty. I wasn’t motivated enough to recover a lost ball because of the disgusting foam around the shore. With the hot deal and addition discount I played this at an extremely low price and like they say ‘you get what you pay for’.
Great value, surprising layout, relaxed feel
Even though I never needed more than a 7 iron, every shot was unique. The elevation changes , mature trees and well placed water hazards created a surprising treat for a short Phoenix course.
The course conditions were a little more like a midwestern backyard than the typical manicured Phoenix golf course. The casual feel of the grounds keeping added to the relaxed charm of this multi use course (frisbee golf, disc golf, and golf golf).
I look forward to returning soon. I also look forward to playing a quick afternoon 9 in the summer. The tall trees should keep the sun at bay.
Beautiful trees
Great course for the nine holes. The only problem was the markings for the holes. It is difficult to tell where hole #1 and hole #2 are.
Backyard Ballin’
Pictures made it look much more significant than it really was. Was kinda shocked when I pulled up. It was a walking 9 hole made mostly of shorter par 3s but was kinda refreshing weaving in n out of tall trees and lakes trying to distance yourself from the concrete jungle! It’s a great place for one to sharpen their golf teeth
Great Location
Stepping up to the 1st tee at freedom golf course makes you feel free! The course is in such a great location with beautiful trees that take you up and down its short par 3s and sloppy fairways that are shared for disc golf and foot golf. The greens are not in good shape and there is mud everywhere, but if you shank the ball then who cares? Great course for first timers and beginners!
needs a review of management and business objectives
Found the tee boxes disgustingly lacking setup, lack of mowing, tee line distances anywhere but complying with the score card distances, over watering to the point of mud and puddles, some areas that warrant watering look like Desert Storm hit. Not well maintained, and for the most part, appears to be no maintenance. Got the impression, the course is on it's last legs and going either on the block or selling for a residential development. At the time there were perhaps 18 other golfers on the course. Too bad, nice little course, but exceptionally poor management.
Customer service terrible
Last winter I golfed here weekly because they had good rates thru GolfNow and I like to walk 9 holes for exercise. This is a decent little course (although fairly rough) with lots of trees (unusually for Arizona). Yesterday I tried to book a round on line as usual but apparently they were having problems with their system. I called GolfNow to see if they could help with they did manually after talking with the course. After driving there and getting setup to golf went to pro shop to pay and was told they would not honor the rate given on line. Person there was rude and disrespectful with no apologies. After refusing to look at my confirmation email said there was nothing he could do. Will not be going back there.
$5 better then expected
the course was better then I expected for $5.
I have paid a lot more to play on courses that were not nearly as nice as the the greens on this course.
I walked the 9 hole course in 40 min.
My only compliant is a lack of signage when you finish one hole there is nothing pointing you to the next tee box.
Nice people, but terrible price.
I like the staff at this course, it wasn't my first time playing there, but I have to say they need to change their price. Its overpriced for how nice it is. And I think everyone else would agree.
Left for a different course
We had a foursome booked there and upon pulling in to the course to see a shack that was the "clubhouse" and a course that was poorly mowed by hand. It was very disorganized and my group actually decided to eat the 40 something we spent booking it to golf at a better suited course. It's my fault for only relying on the high star rating it received on the app rather than doing some research myself. Will not golf here, I'd rather spend my money elsewhere on a more organized and put together course.
Good for different reasons
I booked this course to take out three players that are very beginners. Their expectations were low so the course was fine for them. My only complaint from this point of view was in places on the course it was difficult to now where the next tee boxes were. Especially from eight to nine. Nice driving range. Greens were slow.
first time playing it. It was better than I expected. Nice course with variety in holes
Shady Nine
I have played this course in the past mainly in the summer. This is due to the fact that in the Arizona summer this is probably the shadiest course in the state.
This visit I noticed that the greens and overall entire course was better than I have seen it in the past. They have added Frisbee golf to the course and everyone was getting along great, playing at a good pace of play and enjoying the day. I tell you it was like Democrats and Republicans or Cats and Dogs getting along, almost weird.
Seriously it is a great place for the price.
