Sun City South Golf Course
About
The Sun City South Golf Course is normally a private club but during the summer months, public play is allowed. The course has a traditional layout with four sets of teeboxes for a variety of different golfing options, which allow golfers to work on a range of different handicaps. The golf course has a fair share of challenges with several sand bunkers and plenty of trees scattered throughout. There are also out-of-bounds stakes providing more difficulty. Water hazards come into play on some holes as well. The Sun City South Golf Course facility has a putting green and chipping area for golfers to use in addition to the course.

Get what you're asking for
Greens roll fairly slow...the rough is non-existent and is mostly just dried up mud. For $25, you know what you're getting. We skipped a hole because of a 6-some in front of us which seems to be a common theme at the course.
Ridiculous pin placements
They put several of the pins on severe down slopes so if you missed the hole by just a little bit, in many cases it almost rolled off the green....very frustrating. Also, the fairways were cut a bit short so thin lies were very common. The balance of course was acceptable.
Best course in sun city but pin positions set for pga major
Still my favorite course out here but last few rounds here have been frustrating due to the pin placements. Heard the same from other players. Many pins on highest point in green, even if that spot is only feet from the edge. Too tough for a public play, non-tourney day.
Good condition
Played in the wind but course was pretty good shape.
Best of the Rec Center courses
Always enjoy this course, great tee options for all levels of players. Fairways in excellent shape, greens fair (a couple dicey pin placements). Staff is always friendly and helpful (especially Chaz).
Older crowd but still a nice course
Enjoyed our round. Snack lady not real with it. Took 20 minutes at the turn to get 2 hot dogs and a couple beers. She was on the phone for a while on a personal call, got our dinks and forgot about the hotdogs. Had to let another group play thru. Other than that, course was in pretty good shape.
Good course for the money
Everything was fine about the course except the pace of play. I had a tee time at 2:00 and the first 9 holes were okay for the pace of play. One of our golfers left after nine holes & that's when we had to wait. 2 of the other golfers left after hole 15 so I went on by myself. It was 6:00 & I didn't get to finish the last 2 holes. Also, there were no restrooms open when I returned my cart.
Great Day
The course was in great condition, no wonder they had a lot of volunteers out sanding divots and fixing ball
marks. Very friendly people. This and the North have been my favorite places to play for a couple years and
I don't live in Sun City. Using Golf Now Wow what a bargain. My only disappointment is who is setting the pins
on unstoppable slopes. I read years ago that any putt within two feet should be almost flat. Is that still a goal?
I still played with 3 nice people and had another great day. Thanks!
busy course
fairly busy but it moved along fairly well.... only back up was on par 3 #5 because of shots into the lake... greens looked a bit slow and wet but were pretty quick....
