Ken McDonald Golf Course
About
Located in the metropolitan Phoenix area, the affordably priced Ken McDonald Golf Course is a championship-length course that is suitable for any level of golfer. The flat terrain of the course makes for an enjoyable stroll, while the water hazards that come into play on eight holes provide plenty of challenge. The water hazards are provided by the Western Canal, which flows directly through the golf course. The par-5 11th hole is the longest on the course at 570 yards; it is very difficult to reach in two shots. In addition to the course, Ken McDonald Golf Course offers several other amenities including a restaurant, club fitting and repairs, and professional golf instruction.

Ken McDonald
Always enjoy playing Ken McDonald. Good course for the average golfer wide open fairways and fairly flat.
golf
nice day, fun course. Wish the bar was open when we finished so we could have a beer
My experience
Perspective matters. I have played all over the world. So I feel like I have an understanding of how to value an experience.
To have an unrealistic expectation playing golf at a public course in arizona for $ 40, is by definition to insure disappointment. Rather, I think if you are realistic, you can have a good experience if you choose. By that I mean you understand where you are, what to expect and the value you can derive for the investment.
Under these terms I would rate ken Macdonald very high.
Cheesehead spring golf
Too many burnt out areas in fareways. Greens were very inconsistent. No evidence of a marshal. 4 guys in front of us were playing 2 man scramble. Usually parked in front of or on the side of the green opposite the cart path. Our twosome waited for their every shot. They would tee off right away to avoid us playing through.
Decent Muni track
This course has a odd layout fit in to an area between a power plant a community center and across a canal / bike path. To me the variety of the holes is what makes it fun, - #2, hits over the path, 9 &15 are interesting tough water dog legs. The fairways are getting pretty cooked and crispy, greens are okay, first cut is either non existent packed dirt, or a patchy scraggly lumpy bermuda mess, crapshoot. But If you are decent off the tee it won't matter. Pretty cheap, no frills
Dirt patch
Didn't have a decent lie all day on or off the fairway, well, actually had some lies that weren't bare off the fairway a couple times. Greens are rocks. I might expect these conditions in July or for $25 but not for $60. Sand traps look good, but were crusty - hadn't been raked in ages.
Maintenance lacking
Very dry, fairways no grass, starter non existed. Nobody seem to care at all.
Very low quality. Not sure I will return.
This is a great course and the staff are awesome!
I really like KM, the course layout and the challenging fairways and greens are always fun.
As always, the staff are great and really helpful.
I recommend this course to anyone who wants to play in the Phoenix area.
Good fun for the price!
Kenny Mac is s fun golf course and a good value for your hard-earned cash. Although conditions can be spotty, the fairways are wide and open, and the layout is well designed for the space.
Good and the Bad
Course was in bad shape. Everything else was great.
