About
Located in the metropolitan Phoenix area, the affordably priced Ken McDonald Golf Course is a championship-length course that is suitable for any level of golfer. The flat terrain of the course makes for an enjoyable stroll, while the water hazards that come into play on eight holes provide plenty of challenge. The water hazards are provided by the Western Canal, which flows directly through the golf course. The par-5 11th hole is the longest on the course at 570 yards; it is very difficult to reach in two shots. In addition to the course, Ken McDonald Golf Course offers several other amenities including a restaurant, club fitting and repairs, and professional golf instruction.

Nice course some what difficult
I like the course with the back 9 a little eaiserr than the fromt. Greens in good condition.

Great pace of play can do 9 in 1.5 hours. Greens good tee box good, fairways not bad.

This is a decent course especially if you want to work on your basic skills!

Spring golf
For a muni course you would be hard pressed to find one better in the area. Price is right. Greens rolled amazing and they were perfect speed. Fairways were lush and rewarding. Tee boxes could use work but still fine. Even the bunkers were good although was only in one all day but my playing partners were frequent flyers and commented they were very playable.
Great course conditions
Ken McDonald is a municipal course groomed like a resort course. It's in great shape. It's tough to get a tee time - so it's always a full tee sheet... meaning the pace of play can be slow. For women, it's a long course, but not so difficult that it takes the fun out of the day. The practice area is very nice but the restaurant is dark and outside eating is limited.

We golfed here once a week. Enjoyed the play each time.
Not so much yesterday, we had a long ball hitter that almost hit me four times!

Traps have limited sand, fairways seem to be rough shape and greens vary quite a bit from one to the next.
