Ken McDonald Golf Course
About
Located in the metropolitan Phoenix area, the affordably priced Ken McDonald Golf Course is a championship-length course that is suitable for any level of golfer. The flat terrain of the course makes for an enjoyable stroll, while the water hazards that come into play on eight holes provide plenty of challenge. The water hazards are provided by the Western Canal, which flows directly through the golf course. The par-5 11th hole is the longest on the course at 570 yards; it is very difficult to reach in two shots. In addition to the course, Ken McDonald Golf Course offers several other amenities including a restaurant, club fitting and repairs, and professional golf instruction.

Great course
Course was in great shape. Pace of play was great, never had to wait in a hole, really enjoyed thus course. Very reasonable.
Pace of play was slow due to a foursome 4 or 5 group ahead of us, no course ranger was seen. Golf cart DIED on 17 with our other twosome pushing us through 18 and to the club house DOA. Course was is good shape.
Ken McDolanld-A Decent Municipal Course
Appreciate the municipal courses not trying to rip off golfers with exorbitant rates right now, as most private courses are doing.
KMGC has a nice layout, has kept the fairways and greens in good shape, which allow for a pleasant golf experience.
Don't look for any dramatic views or elevation changes. Just a good place to play some enjoyable golf.
Ken McDonald
Great course for all levels. Good pace of play and price is very reasonable. Staff is awesome. Friendly and accommodating.
Special thanks to Mike in the clubhouse for always making our group welcomed.
Sincerely Double D. (Dave D.)
Good value
I enjoyed playing this course. This was my first visit but I plan on playing it again soon. The greens are beat up but still better than some more expensive courses I’ve played lately.
Great Muni
Had a great day at a course we had never played. Conditions were firm and fast with a few patches on greens but they rolled well. No tricks at this course, good shots rewarded if off line you roll the dice with your lie. Other than the long walk from the parking lot and a course layout with 500 yards between 9th green and 10 tee that is repeated from 16 green to 17 tee this course is very walkable. For the $50 we paid it was well worth it. If you can get a tee time Ken Macdonald is worth it.
Mr.
Our t-time was 3:54--we got out at 3:45--so we certainly did not expect to finish. However, the golfers ahead of us had three speeds: Slow, slower and slowest; therefore, 2 1/2 hours to play 9 holes. Yikes! Pathetic! Ben Crane* wannabees. (*Ben was ranked the slowest player to ever play on the PGA tour.)
Beautiful kept course
We always enjoy our round of golf at Ken McDonalds!
Slow play
Disappointed that management does not put active Marshalls on the course to encourage slow groups to speed up. We waited to hit on virtually every hole but #18. Round took 5 hours and 10 minutes. Way too slow. And not the first time this has happened. Note: We do occasionally see a "Marshall" on the course, but they sure don't seem to be doing anything to encourage slow groups to speed up.
Great Muni if You an Get a Tee Time
Finally found out what the fuss was about. A great day on a mini in very good shape other than some patches on some greens. Firm and fast with no tricks. Hit good shots and get results, if you don’t you’re rolling the dice on your lie and shot to be played. Got a great deal for $50 and we were pleased to know walking with a cart was a choice. Only criticism is the walk from parking to clubhouse and the 500 yards or so from 9 green to 10 tee compounded by the same walk from 16 green to 17 tee. If you’re not ready to walk a little extra take the cart. If you can get a tee time make sure to give this course a try. Worth it.
