Always a good time!
They never disappoint, staff and course are always great!
Price made it reasonable
The tee boxes, fairways were pretty bad. Greens were recently punched which need to be done, so I can accept that, but a handful of greens were really bad with many bald spots. Pace of play was good mainly because we teed off at 7:00. It is a golf course but nothing terribly interesting except the low green fees were inline with the overall experience! Don’t rule it out but don’t expect a lot!
Great Value
I play here every now and again. Greens and tee boxes were in good shape. Fairways were so so, but for $30, it's a great deal imo.
COULD USE SOME TLC
Aeration was one factor, lack of water was another, terrible staff was enough for me to cross this course off my list to consider playing again, ever!!
I have played over 70 rounds of golf this year, at various courses. My first time playing this one, and after just playing 3 holes, I was ready to go home. The only thing good, was the $17 green fee, including cart, but they would have to pay me next time, to play this course......
Greens were sanded and punched . Need to be done
Greens punched and sanded made it difficult to put
Great Round course conditions are rough
Tees and fairways were beat up and dead. Had to hit off dirt most of the time. Greens were hard and fast. Love the course and it rained the night before making the ground soft and easy to hit from. Great course just needs some TLC.
Value
This course is a great value. I gave it 3 stars because the lack of amenities and the slow pace by other golfers.
Solid golf experience
I paid $20 to walk at 6:18 am. Played in 3.5 hours, course was in fine shape considering the time of year. Greens were very good, although a little slow to protect from the heat. Fairways had some dry patches, but not many. From a “value for the money” standpoint, this is always a solid track. Only complaint is the foolish flipping of the 9’s that they did so now you have to trek across the parking lot 3 times during a round of golf. Need to put a carne asada stand between what is now the 9th green and the 17th tee. They’d increase revenue for food (no one goes into the restaurant at the turn anyway) and then you could play the current 10th hole as the 12th and finish at what is now the 16th green, which would be a great finishing hole.
Awesome time
Staff was very friendly and helpful. And course was great.
Rough shape but playable
This was the last course around that hadn't yet punched their greens so it was nice to have greens that rolled pretty well. Bunkers were a bit chunky but had sand. Some of the fairways were in exceptionally poor condition and could use some attention. We played lift and place in the fairways to avoid the dirt patches and weeds. All in all, $18 was a perfectly fair price and the golf course played pretty well despite the blemishes. I think they are aerating on the 18th.
A+ rates, layout, ease of reserving tee times, staff
The fairways are going through a rough time right now, they will be punching them soon to aerate, so that the Summergrass comes in better. That’s the only negative. Greens are rolling pretty well and can’t beat the layout/challenge or the rates. I can play the course easily in 3 1/2 hours and wish early morning play was closer to that (esp bcse of the heat), but 4 hour rounds are perfectly fine.
As always, I truly enjoy playing at Ken McDonald Golf course. The price to play golf is worth playing. Summertime course conditions are not as green but still playable and to enjoy the day.
