About
Located in the metropolitan Phoenix area, the affordably priced Ken McDonald Golf Course is a championship-length course that is suitable for any level of golfer. The flat terrain of the course makes for an enjoyable stroll, while the water hazards that come into play on eight holes provide plenty of challenge. The water hazards are provided by the Western Canal, which flows directly through the golf course. The par-5 11th hole is the longest on the course at 570 yards; it is very difficult to reach in two shots. In addition to the course, Ken McDonald Golf Course offers several other amenities including a restaurant, club fitting and repairs, and professional golf instruction.

Labor Day round
the course is in excellent condition. The staff is always great. But their carts could use some upgrades: they should have coolers attached, especially when it is 100+ degrees for the day. And they have no seed for your divots. These are pretty standard these days, even for a municipal course.
It was crowded, but it was a holiday, so you expect that. We finished in about 4.5 hours. I've always enjoyed this course: it is challenging enough for the skilled but forgiving enough for hackers. A good balance. I'll be back again!
Good course for a Muni. Know what you are going to get. Pace of play can be an issue.
Tee Em High
Let em fly. Great local course, always in good condition. Greens roll true, bunkers are fluffy, fairways and rough have plenty of grass. Value of greens fee is exceptional. The only thing is I wish the carts had an attached cooler.
Value for money
The course lack a bit of character but overall it was in good shape and excellent value for money
Greens were slow and a little bumpy, everything else was solid but I mainly care about greens that roll nice. Great price makes up for the greens
It was the perfect morning to play
When we arrived we were not sure if we would still be able to play, there were stormy skies and some sprinkles. It was cooler than normal morning but it was very humid. We went ahead and teed off on the first hole. Because we only played 9 they had us play the back nine. holes 17 and 18 were on the other side of the canal which was a bit confusing, but we found them and continued our play. We ate at the on-site restaurant and it was very good.
Good value slow pace of play
My only complaint is we never saw a Marshall and there was one group with several open holes in front of them.
