Ken McDonald Golf Course

About
Located in the metropolitan Phoenix area, the affordably priced Ken McDonald Golf Course is a championship-length course that is suitable for any level of golfer. The flat terrain of the course makes for an enjoyable stroll, while the water hazards that come into play on eight holes provide plenty of challenge. The water hazards are provided by the Western Canal, which flows directly through the golf course. The par-5 11th hole is the longest on the course at 570 yards; it is very difficult to reach in two shots. In addition to the course, Ken McDonald Golf Course offers several other amenities including a restaurant, club fitting and repairs, and professional golf instruction.

Last round before overseed
The course is still in good condition considering it’s the last to overseed in the area. Pace was a little slower than usual but not bad since we were a twosome following a foursome.
Nice public course
Nice public course in Tempe. Even though it’s 18 holes you can get 9 in pretty easily and cut out for half day. Carts are pretty decent working order. Decent amount of shade
Time-out
Do you need a break? Then get ready for a Long, long, long course….but don’t leave your fairway woods home. Otherwise, nice flat greens, a few traps and a few dog-legs. Enjoy a relaxing course that will take your anxiety and wash them away!!
Not great
Not kept up, run down.
Play somewhere else.
Nice people though.
Course in terrible condition
Bunkers hard panned and not raked in the last week. Dead spots everywhere. Greens are ok but a little bumpy.
I will never play here again.
Ken MacDonald
Sprinklers were running during play which was a small annoyance. Greens were thick and slow hard to get used to and fairways were thick. Presented some challenges that are beneficial for learning to play different course conditions
Just OK
Course in OK shape....nothing great....needed to be mowed in several areas and greens were a bit sandy and bumpy.....maybe they were recently punched......course is maybe worth 35 bucks but I would not pay much more.....if they invested a bit of money into it then could be a really nice track.
seriously this is not good
So they dont tell you when you book this that the parking lot and adjacent lot are closed. there are no signs to help and no one from the course will help you. You have to park and walk about a 1/2 mile with your bag to get to the course. then hope that the spot you picks is on the correct side of the Constuction tape, if not you have to go even further. the course is not terrible for summer, especially if you dont like grass but not worth more than $25-$30 bucks to play. the staff in the golf shop are none to friendly nor helpful. Even though there are two of them, they couldn't find the time or the staff to help people from the parking lot in 113 degree weather. I personally would have tipped a guy $5 to pick me up out there.. Defiantly dont play here unless your quite desperate for a dry round there are much better course at this price. you all should have remodeled the clubhouse.. duh
Great place to play and layout. Staff are all great people.
Great time! Thanks for checking and refilling on course ice water coolers!
Ken McDonald
Always enjoy playing Ken McDonald. Good course for the average golfer wide open fairways and fairly flat.
